Well I wrote to WDW regarding my disappointment with the characters that were announced at Hollywood and Vine. (Sorry for all those with little ones) I had just so been looking forward to a boys hero type breakfast. The women I talked to wanted to let me know that they were listening to their guests and reading the e-mails and unitl recently they couldn't do as much with the Pixar characters as they would have liked to. She then asked me if I had heard of 1900 Park Fare. (of course) Then she said "well you know how the characters have changed at the restaurant often" and I was like "yes", and that was it. Sounded to me like a subtle hint to look for a change in characters at 1900 Park Fare and they would include some of the Pixar characters.

There was a podcast from an imagineer that 1900 Parkfair was changing late spring early summer to a Fairies Breakfest .But I haven't seen or heard anything lately.

Don't even tell me that 1900 Park Fare dinner is going to change. I have it booked for DD's 3rd birthday in September. She is absolutely in love with Cinderella. I'm for a new character meal as well as the next guy, since I also have an 8 yo DS, but they better keep Cinderella there also.

That's great news. Perhaps more of us should write Disney about this since they said they were listening. Can you post the address you sent the letter to?

yeah, I don't much get the Playhouse Disney one, it isn't really meant for anybody who isn't accompanied by very young children. I don't know what they were thinking. It sort of lets out anyone with kids over the age of 6 and the adults without kids who liked a character meal. If they used Pixar characters they'd have gotten a wider audience.

I always thought of MGM as the tweens & teens park maybe this is to attract the younger ones into the park.

I don't get it either they had a good rumore with the Pixar and were getting a lot of positive feedback and they do a complete 180 to cater to toddlers.

villains breakfast anyone? I think that would be awesome.... even if its only during MNSSHP. what do you think? :cheer2: pirate:

I sent the e-mail to wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com but I also sent the exact same copy from the contact us area of the www.disneyworld.com website since I wasn't sure if the e-mail was correct. Basically I let them know that I was disappointed to hear the characters that would be appearing at Hollywood and Vine would be Jo Jo, Goliath, June and Leo. I felt as if this breakfast was targeted to only the very young childern unlike some of the other character breakfasts with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale which were for the young and the young at heart. I did mention that I heard rumors of The Incedibles and Buzz and Woody appearing and I know rumors or only rumors but I beleive these characters would appeal to a much wider age range. Then I mentioned that if there were any issues with these characerters that there were many more that could appear in a "hero" type breakfast that would appeal to all age ranges, both male and female such as Tarzan, Aladdin, Prince Phillip, Hercules, Peter Pan and the Power Rangers. And then I just asked them to please consider a character breakfast such as this.

OhmyGOSH, a Power rangers breakfast would be HUGE!!! I never thought of that! I'm another one who is in favor of a hero/boys meal - (especially!) Toy Story characters, also Aladdin, Tarzan(especially if they get the Tarzan who used to appear in the stage show at Animal Kingdom...yum!), etc.

I've always thought that it would be nice to have a "rare characters" meal, having all the characters that are hard to find or that you rarely see. Jiminy Cricket is one that comes to mind...

agnes!

Has anyone had the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare? I might book this just in case. We had dinner there once and it was ok. Not great, but good. Staff was efficient & friendly.

I'm with you. This is our first Disney trip, my dd is 6 and LOVES Cinderella!

The only reason I booked this dinner was so she could see/meet Cinderella!

If they add some boy/Pixar characters then it would be nice too I guess because I do have 2 boys ages 9 & 2 that would enjoy it more then BUT don't leave out Cinderella!!

If it does change you could do the character dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle.

The CM could have been talking/hinting about 1900 Park Fare BREAKFAST and not dinner.

I don't know, that is a lot to be assuming from one unfinished sentence.

Well, what would be the point of even mentioning that "characaters at 1900 park fare change often" and "they are listening" and "they couldn't do much with the pixar characters until recently" unless it was implying something?

Also, she did specifically say breakfast, so I wouldn't worry about dinner.

Under the old licensing agreement w/ Pixar, the appearance time of the Pixar characters was severely limited, as they did not want them overexposed. That MAY change now that Pixar is part of Disney, but I believe that we will find that that decision rests with John Lasseter, the Pixar VP who is now Principal Creative Adviser for Imagineering. I think you will definitely see them more in parades, but restaurant appearances are a whole 'nother issue.

Restaurants do not get characters for free, they have to pay for the appearances. I don't know whether or not the old contract even allowed Pixar characters to do restaurant appearances, but I'm guessing that it did not, because as far as I know they never did any.

It is my understanding that the restaurants in the resorts have more leeway in terms of decisions on what characters they use than restaurants in the parks do, which may well be what the mention of 1900 Park Faire was about.

I'm interpreting it different -

PF has undergone several character changes

Thus H&V is likely to also.
