Gorilla Pod users...

I have the SLR-Zoom Gorilla and bought a Velbon ballhead for it.

Can you give more details on the ballhead. I lost the head on the Gorilla pod, the pro model. No matter how many times I tightened it, it would come lose and finally lost it.

I have a Velbon QHD-51Q, with a weight rating of about 7.5 lb. It is compact and takes the same quick release as my Velbon tripod, so I can leave the mount on the camera most of the time. The ballhead is about $50 at many of the stores, making the Gorilla/ballhead combo kind of expensive but it works well.

If you really don't want the head to come loose, try a little Loctite 242 (the blue compound, the red stuff is forever)

i actually just picked up a SLR-Zoom and i have a few different heads i can use with it. i'll definitely use some loctite as the head does spin pretty easy - especially with a body attached!

My head seems screwed on pretty tight, although DW would probably disagree! ;)

The Velbon head has a footprint that matches the Gorilla Zoom-SLR very closely and the pod has a rubber pad on top so the head seems to stay on very well.
