Hello :)

I have not visited DL California since their 50th Anniversary. During that trip I visited Goofy's Kitchen and saw how they do some fun interaction with the kids, like Goofy was walking out of the kitchen area with a tray full of dishes and tripped, dropping them everywhere, and the kids would all go help him clean up. I remember it being quite funny seeing all the people unaware serving themselves at the buffet look up with worry when all the plastic dishes went flying all over :rotfl: I didn't have kids then but thought it would be fun, if I did have kids to watch them take part in this sort of thing. 10 years on, I do have kids and I am wondering do they still do this sort of thing at the character dining venues? We are visiting for this year for the 60th Anniversary :goodvibes

We were there this morning and hoping to see that kind of stuff too and was disappointed. The small amount of characters came by but nothing too exciting for our 7 year old. Was a bit bummed and sooo expensive for, what we got. It used to be our fav!

Unless they've changed format since 2013, and I haven't heard thru have, Surf's Up has what you're looking for! They have fun little dance parties with Mickey and a few other characters. Usually, one other participates while the others are walking around. It was awesome to watch my 3yr old birthday boy dance and jump around with everyone! The older kids can follow along and do specific dance moves. We loved it!

That's disappointing to hear, and I feared that would be the case. Why is it that the magic is dying in these places, the kids (and adults) have so much fun with these sorts of extra and simple things!

I'm disappointed too that they have stopped doing the extra stuff at Goofy's. Though my kids are too old by far to participate, it is one of the things that brought us back to Goofy's trip after trip. My kids and I are disappointed that the atmosphere isn't as fun as we remember it being in the past
