First of all, is the brunch any good? What is the cost? Is it easier to order tickets online (where woudl I buy and would I save $$??) or just make reservations and pay at when you get there?

Our flight arrives in Anaheim at 9:40am. We are staying at BWPPI. Do you think we could arrive in Anaheim, take the shuttle to our hotel, have them hold our bags, and be at Goofy's Kitchen by 11:30am? Would that be pushing it? Or just about right?

DH didn't cringe when I mentioned a character meal, and I think it would be a great way to start our vacation.

Thanks, in advance!

The brunch at GK costs around $35 (the price fluctuates due to season), and has a HUGE selection of yummy food...take a look at the thread on the Board that has pictures of food served at the Park/DLR...there's really too many things to list them all here!

As to the timing, it'd depend on what airport you're flying in to...I'd say that you'd probably be able to make it in time if you were flying in to the John Wayne Airport, but I honestly don't think you'd make it there on time if you're flyin in to LAX (traffic is notoriously horrible around that area, plus, you'd have to pick up your luggage and then find/wait for ground transportation...which works out ok if you're not in a huge hurry, but maybe not so much if you'd prepaid for a meal that might be over with by the time you get there!)

Here's the best representation of the food at Goofy's that I have seen so far - courtesy of Disneynerd420. This is page 23 of his TR, and be sure to scroll all the way down the page, as the photos (taken this past Fall, if I recall correctly) cover a couple of different posts (#338 and #339):

I love the food at GK! And any friend I have ever brought there ended up becoming a Goofy's fan. The fruit is fresh and delicious and juicy. The bacon is to die for. There are things like garlic tomatoes and pizza, hot dogs, all kinds of pastries, delicious potatoes, Mickey-shaped cobbler - well, just take a look at Disneynerd420's photos and you will see what I mean!!:goodvibes

Ah! That's what I was thinking of...not the "food porn" thread.

Seriously, he deserves, like, some sort of award for the documentation of the GK buffet!

Would 2 hours be enough to get us to our hotel from SNA via shuttle, leave our bags with them (since we are too early to check in), and head to the restaurant? Or should I make the reservations for 12N, and if nothing else we can wander DTD until our reservations?

Love the pics! I am going to show my son when he wakes up!

This thread (and especially all the pics in the linked thread) - has finally convinced me. I wanted to do one character meal on upcoming April trip and have been going back and forth. GOOFY's it is for me. We will get our money's worth with all that food I'm sure! :)

He sure does deserve an award!!:thumbsup2 Yay, James!!! Great Goofy's pictures!:cool1::cool1:

Previously I was referring people to J.C.andAli'sMom's extensive Goofy's photos in the food porn thread, and those are still fantastic and detailed, but I think a couple of those buffet items shown are no longer served at GK, sadly.:sad2: So James cames through with very extensive and pretty recent GK photos for us to refer people to!!!

Maybe the noon idea is good to allow yourself enough time to get to the hotel, etc. Just make sure you will have enough time at Goofy's. On some days GK closes at 2 p.m., which would be fine for your schedule, but on other days I think it closes at 1 p.m. So the characters start to trickle out of the restaurant a bit before closing time, and they stop putting out fresh batches of food a bit before then as well.

Yes! That's why GK is more expensive than Minnie & Friends, etc. - all that food! And of course, if you haven't already, check out our character meal photo/info thread, with plenty more Goofy's (and other character meal) pictures:

We are not the type to sit and dawdle - we would probably eat and mingle a bit, and then leave. We only have 2 days in the parks, so after lunch we would be heading to DCA. I will attempt to make the seating to 12N then. Thanks!

What airport are you flying in to? If LGB you could make 11:30 I'm sure, but with only 2 days ~ so the day you fly in is day 1 right?? - I don't think I'd take the time for a character meal, I'd maybe try for an early one (prior to park opening ~ what time will DL open on day 2 for you?) If the park doesn't open till 10am, you have no problem enjoying a 8am breakfast and then heading to the park....

Our agenda is as follows :

Day #1 - Arrive at SNA airport at 9:40am, shuttle to hotel, drop off luggage.
This is also one day of DL/DCA, and the day we plan on doing DCA, and if possible Goofy's Kitchen for brunch.

Day #2 - Lego Land (Gray Line tour)

Day #3 - Disneyland (all day)

Day #4 - Universal Studios (Gray Line tour)

Day #5 - Home! (leave early - 5am - to go to airport)

What are your dates? What day does DL open on Day 3? Any way you could do an early breakfast @ Goofy's? Why won't you be hopping at DLR ~ it's easy to do.....

I just think it is easier for us not to plan to park hop for the moment (but that may change - easier to plan the character meal though). DCA is pretty small, and we are going at the peak of Spring Break - March 27, 28, 29, 30.

The hours are not up for the parks yet, but I am guessing opening will be at 8am on Monday.

The day we arrive we will be getting up really early - 4:30am - to get to the airport. That is why I think the character meal would be good that day - so we can get a good, hearty meal in the middle of the day to get us through the rest of the day.

You're probably right about hours ~ why can't they have them up for Pete's sake! Hopping is easy, if I were you I'd do it both days, especially your 2nd DLR day ~ start early (1st thing get in line no less than 1/2 hr. before park opening) at DL, hop over to DCA early afternoon and back to DLR in the evening.

Cool. Thanks!

Can't wait! And I think that Goofy's will be the perfect way to start our vacation, and fill up after just munching snacks all morning.

Reserved for 12N - $29.99/per person - tax & tip are NOT included.

Yay!!!
