Goofy's Kitchen at noon?

I posed this question, buried in another post, so I’ll ask it again where people can see it.

I think I’ve narrowed our character meal option down to Goofy’s. I asked DD and since we’ve been to Ariel’s the last 2 times, she’s ready to see some other characters. Also, I think she’ll like the interacting. Now it’s just a question of what time to book.

I’m thinking of doing Goofy’s Kitchen at noon on a Sunday (july 22). Good idea? Bad idea? We’re not going for the food – we’re going for the characters. We’d like to see as many as possible and interact, dance, etc. with them. I figure we’d need to leave DL at around 11:30 for our reservation. Is noon a good time? Should I try for 11:30 instead (leaving DL at 11)? We need to do a late breakfast so we can preserve the cooler morning hours for park time (last July it was 100 degrees).

And what’s the best way to get to Goofy’s. Can we take the monorail? I don’t think in all my years at DL I have ever been on their monorail – I know nothing about it!

Great idea! I love going to GK around noon or even a little after. GK isn't always opened at lunchtime, but in July it should be. I've always had great character interaction in the early afternoon. And the food is pretty decent. Imo, it's best to be at DL first thing to enjoy the lower crowds and (in summer) the cooler temps. I'm often ready for a break around noon.

Yup, taking the monorail over to DTD is usually a good idea. At this time of day there are generally no significant waits for the monorail. If you haven't been on the monorail before, it's high time you give it a try.

Thanks! Yes, I forgot to put in my post that the hours for GK are supposed to be until 2pm so I thought noon would give us plenty of time to eat and see characters.

I think it sounds perfect - food and characters will be great. Your child will love it and there will usually be at least one princess in there along with other characters you won't see elsewhere.

Strangely enough, we never take the monorail either, it's been years since we've been on it. The wait just got annoying and then it's been shut down so long. The walk through DTD isn't really much and it's kind of a nice breather to relax once you get to the restaurant.
