Is it worth a trip to DTD JUST for Goofy's Candy Company?

Absolutely!! Positively!! I love the caramel apples you can customize

YES! My favorite was the rice crispie treat covered in milk chocolate with reese's peanut butter cups!

Yes, it is worth the trip. If you have kids they will be in heaven (and will certainly get a sugar high just from breathing the air - it smells so good!). Also, you will feel like a kid again!

Here is the only problem I see....I can't imagine that you will be able to get to DTD, in Goofy's, and out again without exploring something else while you are there.

Mickey's Mart has tons of gifts (cheap) and you could go in there everyday of your trip and find something new. They move the stuff really quickly.

Once Upon a Toy Store, Lego Imagination Center, World of Disney, and Build a Dino (inside the new T-Rex restaurant) will put you in toy heaven! Plus there are some other very interesting specialty stores. There really are tons of neat little shops.

There is also a carousel and the new balloon ride and don't forget about Disney Quest.

There are also ton's of places to eat (cs and ts). -Including another candy store - I think it is called the Candy Cauldron and it's over on the West Side. Our favorite cs is Earl of Sandwich and T-Rex is our favorite ts at DTD.

If you don't have much time you could go to Goofy's pick a treat and be on your way. But if you have a little bit of time to spend you could really have a blast!

:rotfl: I was thinking the exact same thing:thumbsup2

Yes, yes, and yes! There are areas of prepackaged candy. But, the best part is the counter where you get stuff made to order; ie. pretzel dipped in white chocolate, then dark chocolate, then chocolate chips. :woohoo:

OMG! It sure is!!!! Check out my trip report for photos of what we made:thumbsup2 I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was either!

Thanks!! We have one day set aside as resort/rest day and I thought a trip to DTD would be fun - even if we just went to Goofy's (never been and the girls would love it!). But we are not interested in DQ and my DH can only take so much shopping so I wasn't sure! And thanks for the tips of the other things to do/see!!!!

Don't forget to pop in the Lego Store! :)

There is ALOT to do in DTD. My DH can't deal with alot of shopping either but we always take a few hours on our 'resting' day to visit DTD. Tons of places to get cute pics of the kids at as well!

Not unless you want the gingerbread cookies and the create your own dipped pretzel rods like I do...that is the only thing we go there for.

Are you kidding?!?!?!?! Oh yeah it is!! My sister in the other rooms says yeah as well!!!! WOOHOO.

BTW, I have been craving the pretzel rod dipped in dark chocolate, dipped in m &m's, with drizzled caramel and dark chocolate again!!! WOW THAT WAS SOO GOOD! AUG/SEPT can't come fast enough!!!!!

Is it worth a trip to DTD JUST for Goofy's Candy Company?

Isn't the real question: "Is it worth a trip to WDW JUST for Goofy's Candy Company?" :drive:

Absolutely! Of course, chocolate is a food group for me, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE their make-your-own creations. YUMM-O!!

Yes, yes, yes!! The make-your-own treats are so unique and tasty (and are a good value as snack credits on the DDP). We make it a point to stop there a couple of times during a trip (although it can get crowded at times).

How could I possibly miss this? We go to DTD a lot, usually because we go in September and parks generally close earlier. But I have been in Goofy's Candy Co. a lot but have not once made some customized candy.

What is wrong with me? :rotfl:

LOVE the RCTs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
& the apples are HUGE
Im not a huge candy fan but that place looks & smells like heaven!!!!

It's the first stop once we get down to Disney. I'm making it a special treat. Forget the kids, I want some candy!
