Goofy Proposes, Fi Falls for Sleeping Beauty & we Celebrate our Engagement NEW 6/18!

Bummer about your flatbread not being what you had hoped. It certainly LOOKED good! I'm drooling over my computer screen now, to tell you the truth. But I really should be more careful about the times of day that I read TR's. It's too close to lunch to be looking at yummy Disney food!

 That is so true! I love reading dining reviews and I always end up hungry - so not good for my wedding diet! :rotfl:

What a tease about your purchases ;) :rotfl: I still haven't been to Basin and I don't know if it's in the cards for our next trip. We'll have to see. We didn't get to DTD at all in October and I don't have it planned for next month (trying to avoid the Dooney and Burke purse ;))

Little disappointed with your flatbread review...I was so going to try that this time :sad2:

Hehe, I try to keep my readers on the edge of their seats...that and I'm just too lazy to upload the pics yet! :lmao:

Oh no! Sorry to turn you off of the flatbread! Miguel really liked it though, so it could have just been my tastes :confused3 I did try one of their other pepperoni flatbreads later in the week however and it was delicious!

I would love to get some ice cream there, but I do not want to wait in their crazy lines! Even in the slow times - Sept. - the line was super crazy long. I can just smell those bath bombs.:cloud9:

The lines are what turn me off too! This past trip it didn't look to crowded, but it was like 35 degrees outside so I wasn't really thinking ice cream. I'm still hoping next time though! :goodvibes

Sorry you didn't really like either of the lunches-- glad your fiance found something he really liked though! I loved Basin, too! I really wish I had picked up some things there.

Unfortunately I was kind of disappointed with the Mara the whole week. I only had one lunch from there (which was actually another one of their flatbreads) that I really liked. :confused3

I wish we had bought more at Basin than we did, but I have really sensitive skin so I can't use most bath products :sad1:

Did you try the zebra domes at Mara? They are sooo good!

I got addicted to bath bombs from the Basin. I can't wait to see what you purchased there! :goodvibes

I want to say that I just found your trip review and I am hooked on it! Thanks for your reviews so far. I have heard bad reviews about Cape May and my DBf wants to try it for our next trip, so I am glad to know you all enjoyed it! Also I loved all your pictures, we have ADRs at Boma and I can't wait to see AKL! Can't wait until the next installment!

We did try the zebra domes! I liked them, but I think I set my expectations too high because I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. :confused3 Good, but not as good as the cheesecake! :thumbsup2

Definitely give Cape May a try. We've had breakfast there twice and dinner once and were pleased each time. It's always quiet and relaxed there and the food is so yummy! :thumbsup2 And I'm so jealous you're getting to eat at Boma - I so wanted to eat there while we were at AKL but we just couldn't fit it in. :sad1: Are you having breakfast there or dinner?

DAY 6 – Pt. 1 – Is that sleet?! In Orlando?!

We spent this morning leisurely waking up and getting ready for our day. There were no ADRs made for breakfast, so we were able to relax without needing to hurry off somewhere. It was another peaceful morning on the savannah.

Soon enough, it was time to head out…today we were going back to EPCOT!

We got to the park a little after rope drop and stopped for some photopass pics in front of Spaceship Earth. I think this PP photographer was one of the better one's that we encountered. She really took the time to get some good shots and she was super nice.

Then, we followed our usual plan of hurrying to Soarin for FPs first thing. Well, actually FI went to get the FP while I waited around near TT. I snapped this picture while I was waiting to show how empty it was that morning! It was pretty early, but still…

Soon enough, FI was back with our FPs and we headed on to TT! Nothing like zooming around in a convertible going 60 MPH in the cold weather to wake you up in the morning!

After TT, it was back to Mission: Space. Can you tell we are creatures of habit?! :lmao: If you go back and read my first EPCOT updates you will see we follow the same pattern: Soarin FP, TT, MS...It works though! :thumbsup2

As usual, FI and I both took a ride on the green version and then I waited outside while he went back in for a ride on the orange version. While I was waiting for him, the sky was beginning to get a bit dark and it looked like rain was looming. :scared1:

Sure enough, it started to rain! Remember, it was pretty much freezing while we were there, and while I don’t remember the exact temp from this day, I know many mornings it was hovering around 32 degrees. Watching the rain, I kept thinking about how “hard” the droplets were and convinced myself that this rain was in fact sleet! I never heard anyone say while we were there, but later when we returned home I heard that it did in fact sleet in Orlando while we were there!

So I tried to stay dry while waiting on Miguel. This was quite difficult to do since the metal umbrellas that cover the benches near MS have holes in them! When he finally emerged from MS, I was pretty cold from the rain, so we decided to spend some time indoors and use our FPs for Soarin. We made our way (through the sleet!) over to the Land and took what would be our last flight on Soarin for this trip. :sad1: We tried to savor our final Soarin moments while we waited in line.

UP NEXT: We’re disappointed by one of our favorites. Which one will it be?

 I am sure that TT really woke you up! Wow, what a great way to start a day :thumbsup2

WOW! It was sleeting in Florida. Crazy!!

Great photopass pics! Can't wait to see what you do the rest of the day and what ride disappointed?! popcorn::

I think we were commenting on each other's TR's at the same time! Yeah, I was definitely not expecting sleet at Disney! But the weather the whole week was just crazy, as you saw at the beginning of your trip. Our last two days were probably the worst, weather-wise. It was cold all week but then the final two days it was raining too and that was just kind of miserable. :sad2: We still had fun though! :goodvibes

32?!?! :scared1: You guys are troopers!!! You weren't even wearing parkas and Uggs like the people if the background of your pics :rotfl2:

hmmmm what will disappoint you????? :confused3

I think it was just more so that I was stupid when I packed! I was watching the weather for that week and thought....nah, can't be that cold! My dad lives in FL so I spend a lot of time down there and of course have been there during the "winter" months when it gets chilly but it certainly doesn't freeze! :scared1: I didn't want to be walking around in heavy winter coats so I purposely only packed us lightweight jackets. Big mistake! :sad2:

My dad actually said that, while we were at Disney, that was the first time he's ever turned on his heat in the 20 years he's lived in Tampa. It was crazy!

Wow! Now I love the cold but really that sucks!! I'm so sorry that happened to you! I hope what ever disappointed you wasn't too too bad!

You and your cliffhangers! :) I just love Soarin' :lovestruc

 I try! Soarin' is our absolute favorite! I pulled up a video on youtube recently just to hear the music and Miguel and I were both captivated! It really makes us miss Disney. :guilty:

Wow! Now I love the cold but really that sucks!! I'm so sorry that happened to you! I hope what ever disappointed you wasn't too too bad!

Honestly, if I had to choose between being cold at Disney and being hot at Disney, I would choose cold. But that was just too cold!

Thank you! And :welcome: I'm so glad to have you reading along! :goodvibes

We will be eating dinner. I am very excited to try it! BTW your cliffhangers are killing me! Your is my first trip review to actually follow and its a love/hate relationship. I love the fact that I get to read it as you write it and I hate it because I want more! Probably as well because I go to WDW with my DBf. So keep posting (and I will keep reading)!!

Oh no! Maybe I should cool it on the cliffhangers! :lmao: I'm so glad you're enjoying the report, though! It's nice to know I'm keeping my readers intrigued! :goodvibes

Dinner at Boma sounds so yummy! Miguel and I had lunch at Tusker House last year and it was soooo good. I've heard TH and Boma are kind of similar so I'm sure it's going to be great - although I bet Boma is even better than TH! :thumbsup2 Are you going to do a PTR or TR for you upcoming trip? If you do, let me know - I'd love to follow along! :goodvibes

Brrr you're a trooper!! I hate those "last rides of the trip"-- so bittersweet.

I cannot imagine being in Disney and seeing sleet! I'd be shocked!

We follow the same pattern too...Soarin FP, TT, MS. It does work, especially right in the morning. You can get all the biggies done in an hour!

Your photopass pictures are great! You are beautiful and look so happy ! :goodvibes

That is just crazy with it being so cold in Florida---Not the weather you expect when you are in the "Sunshine State."

Uhmmmmm, I'm curious to find out what favorite disappointed you.

We tried to deal with the cold the best that we could - we were determined to not let it ruin our vacation! Although a bigger coat sure would have been nice :rolleyes1

I know! I didn't believe my eyes at first. I kept thinking "nah, it can't be, this is Florida!" but driving out of the world two days later and seeing the orange trees covered in ice pretty much solidified what I saw!

Exactly! We've been going to Disney during "slow" times so luckily we haven't had to deal with big crowds, but we always follow the same plan and we finish everything up so quickly! :thumbsup2

Awww, thanks Michelle! :goodvibes I made it a point this trip to stop for some PP pics even though I didn't order the CD. On our previous trips we've always bypassed the photographers and I'm really glad we didn't this time - it's great to have some pictures of the two of us.

 That's what I kept saying to Miguel..."this is the sunshine state! " It was so strange. Especially talking to my dad over in Tampa during the week, he said they were all so miserable they didn't know what to do with themselves! They are definitely not used to that kind of weather!

Your face must have been numb after ride TT in that cold!
