Please can anyone advise where best to get quick bites to eat when in the parks - thats cheap but tastes ok not fussed about sitting down - thanks

My favourites for counter service meals in terms of value and food are (prices are apx):

Magic Kingdom:
Cosmic Ray's - 1/2 chicken & rib combo with sides (big enough to feed 2 ppl) $15

EPCOT:
Sunshine Season - Half chicken with sides $10, Ginger Beef $10

Tangierine Cafe (Morocco) - Shawarma Platters $15, Mediterranean Sliders $15

Hollywood Studios:
Fairfax Cafe - Chicken & spareribs with sides $15,

Animal Kingdom:
Flame Tree BBQ (my absolute favourite in the whole of WDW for counter service) - Ribs with sides $11

Yak & Yeti - Orange Beef $11

In my opinion, I would rather pay $10-$15 for something that will fill me up more, meaning the next time I eat would be hours later. Some of the bigger meals are even good enough to feed 2 people and a child. There are so many tasty selections to be found throughout the 4 parks, what I mentioned above are ones that we really enjoy!

There is no good value fast food in the parks! It's all ridiculously expensive!

The best way to get value is to share a larger meal. For example, Pizzeria Bella Notte sell a meal for about £10 that includes a pizza, a salad, a dessert and a drink. We find that enough to feed myself, my girlfriend and our toddler son for lunch.

Toad hall sell a double portion of fish and chips for around £7.50. That's enough to feed 2 people for lunch.

I think you're on the wrong forum! Though the Orange Beef sounds nice!

I like Toad Hall for a quick cheap lunch. The fish is tasty.
Fuento del Oro also seems nice, que moves a bit slow at times. They did a fa Taco Salad but not sure if they still do :confused3
We like the Cowboy Cookout too but unsure if they still do counter service b/c of the character tea :confused3
Really need to pay more attention :rotfl:

Blockbuster Cafe in WDS is also nice, good selection and nice Croques. :thumbsup2

I agree about the Blockbuster Cafe in WDS. It was nice to have something for lunch that didn't involve chips & the food filled us up a lot more.

Toad Hall at Fantasyland within the Disneyland Park.

Good value for money, not cheap but also not over priced like elsewhere, and nice food too, double fish and chips, drink and dessert for less than 13 euro's.
Counter Service and recommended.

This is one of our favourites: http://www.dlrpmagic.com/planning/dining/restaurant-menus/colonel-hathis-pizza-outpost/

Was under refurb though when we visited a few weeks ago: http://www.dlp.info/News/2011/07/colonel-hathis-pizza-outpost-in-white/

Not sure if the refurb is completed yet? Would love to see a photo if it has!

It's finished now, we were admiring it yesterday. Looked great with it's refreshed paint, the couleurs really stand out :thumbsup2

Didn't take any pictures though but will do next time if you like :)

Best value price for price has to be McD's in Disney Village whether you like McD's or not! Only downside is that is it can be a bit or a walk from either park depending on where you are in it!

I also vote Colonel Hathi's. Last time we were there we didn't eat much fast food as DM is a bit of a food snob, however one night we were all just so exhausted that we needed food quick. We were really pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere - it was a great place to recharge and the best value meal of the holiday!

I really didn't notice a huge difference in the pricing as far as the counter service places went. I remember going to Fuente del Oro Restaurante, Restaurant en Coulisse, Café Hyperion and Annette's in the village and the bill was about the same at all of these places. Unfortunately cheap theme park food is a bit of an oxymoron. Not a dig an Disney, all theme parks are the same. We tended to really load up a breakfast (free if staying on-site), have an afternoon snack and then an early dinner.
