I already have TS down on our schedule for 50's prime time cafe on our 4th day at WDW. We plan to spend a whole day at MGM. Is that a wise use of a day or do we need less than a day to visit?

What is a good use of TS credit for that day for dinner? We had an ADR at Cap n Jacks for 7:30 that night but I'm not sure going to Disney Quest is a good idea and then back to MGM for Fantasmic show. Since the monorail doesnt go to Epcot from MGM (too bad!!) we're stuck. Any ideas???

:yay:

Going May 9 - 14

I think you need a whole day for MGM also traveling on the buses etc takes a while.

50's is a good restaurant and so much fun. My mom and dad had the best time enjoying the vintage decor. They reminiced from their childhoods and our waiter was so fun.

I think it is good use of a TS credit :goodvibes

Im actually looking for a second TS credit to use that day. I already picked one. I need a second one?? Any ideas???

Thanks all!

At MGM? or somewhere else? ;)

One of the TS credits we used at MGM was at Sci Fi and the kids LOVED it there too. The food and service were pretty good. We will be trying Mama Melrose in May and have heard a few mixed reviews about it so we will see.

why not catch a boat to the boardwalk, yacht and beach club areas plenty of places there

It doesn't have to be at MGM but somewhere easily accessible from MGM. Basically we don't want to have to catch a bus to get from point A to B. If its some other mode of transportation (such as boat, walking distance, monorail) then great!! Since there is no monorail service at MGM I don't know what THERE IS. It's our first trip. Plus for use of a table service we want to eat somewhere great for dinner. WE want to be back in time for fantasmic. I looked at Hollywood and Vine but heard bad reviews so I crossed it off my list.

Thanks to all whom have replied so far!!

Tammy,
You can also take the boat, or walkway from MGM to Epcot's International Gateway if you have hopper passes, and eat there. We like Le Cellier, and Coral Reef, and are trying Chefs de France this trip.

cape may at beach club is just a short boat ride over....buffet, mainly seafood.

ESPN at boardwalk is a neat choice too esp. if you have guys w/you. Huge appetizers & so so bugers/sandwiches.

both are usually fairly easy to get ressies for...don't know if ESPN does ressies but CM does.

Spoodles is on the Boardwalk, not far from where the Boat lets you off. We love Spoodles and Cape Mays. You can't go wrong with either of these... You need a whole day at MGM...It is becoming one of our favorites. We love Fantasmic. Then as stated earlier, if you have park hoppers, Epcot is very close. We have never had a bad meal at Mama Mel Rose. We get the Fantasmic Dinner Special...It is on the DDP, but you will have to secure it with a credit card. If you show the credit card is released. I order the chicken Parm. Salad, Flatbead, desert, desert. It is always good. Then we get special seating for the show. NO line to wait in. Before I knew about this, we have waited 2 hrs to see this show.

What time are you eating at Prime Time?

Do you have to use two TS credits this day (it is much easier to do on an Epcot day)? I don't think I could eat a 4 course lunch and a 4 course dinner in one day! I have done a breakfast buffet and then a dinner, but never a lunch and a dinner.

Do you have the DDP or one of the packages that includes more meals?

What time is Fantasmic! that night? If you do not have the dinner package you really need to be in the theater a full hour before the show, 1.5 or 2 if you are going during a fairly busy time. You may miss out on a lot of what MGM has to offer.

We really like Mama Melrose. If you want to do Fantasmic, you can do the package there for the reserved seating area which will save you a bit of time, too.

We are going to catch the boat to Epcot for dinner at Le Cellier on our MGM night, it sounded way better than any of the MGM options and it's a short ride! We are also doing Coral Reef and Teppanyaki on our Epcot days.

We really enjoyed Cape May last year. The boat service was so efficient that we ended up going to Fantasmic although we initially hadn't planned on it. Also, thought it was a good quality buffet.
