I think we've decided on 'Ohanas for our pre-enight dinner on May 29. We have a PS for 5:10, which should be perfect. I would imagine they have wonderful tropical drinks here...does anyone have any favorites? I normally stick to margaritas and cosmopolitans here at home, but I'd like to try some really different and interesting drinks on our trip. Any recommendations?

There are great drinks at Ohana! :)
The Parrot Passion is good (Amaretto diSaronno, banana liqueur, fruit juice topped with cherry brandy)

but the Tradewinds is my favorite (two rums, banana liqueur and blackberry brandy combined with our pina colada mix with a splash of grenadine)

Have fun!

Try the Lapu Lapu. It's served in a pineapple. It's excellent although I don't recall what is in it!

I agree with the Lapu Lapu. Very yummy and potent.

During our week at the Poly last fall, we became "regulars" at the Tambu lounge. Between us, DH and I tried five different drinks and loved them all, but my favorite was the Backscratcher. All the drinks were big, consistently strong and delicious. Worth every penny.

Enjoy!

The Lapu Lapu is GREAT! Lots of bang for the buck! Their mai tais are good too! :)

Hi, Kamy! Funny bumping into you here (hee hee!) ;)

Excellent Mai Tais! Here and out at the pool bar!

So glad that you spelled 'Ohana correctly, I would hate to see one of the psychos pop out of the woodwork and chop your head off!!

Can you say "Lapu Lapu"?....Oh sure, you can now but wait until you have 2 or 3.

Have a Lapu Lapu!! BE careful....they are large and very potent...have too many and you may have to stagger your way around e-night;)

well, this is from a 20 year old turning 21 in 20 days......

but I always get the sand in your pants (pina colada and strawberry daquiri mixed together haha).......you can get it with or without alcohol there....

Its prolly common in other places, but I have never seen it, and my dad said it was better than the alcoholic concoction he had at Ohana.....

Double thumbs up for the Lapu Lapu which a while back was called the "loopy-loopy" here on the DIS
