Good thoughts/prayers - friends brother in accident *Surgery scheduled, update pg 4*

An update. James was lucky enough to have no head (was not wearing a helmet) or internal injuries.

A car pulled out in front of him and hit him. One of his legs is messed up, his bone in the lower part of his leg was shattered, IF they can save his leg they will have to put a rod in it. Currently they have pins and such in it.

I spent all day yesterday with my friend, matter of fact I just got home a few mins ago, he is here with me and I am going to let him read this thread if he is up to.

They had him on a breathing machine after the surgery but removed it yesterday because it was really bothering him. Other than his leg he is doing okay. They will know more later today or tomorrow on when his next surgery will be.....one of many.

Please keep the good thoughts and prayers coming for my friend, Anthony and his bothers James and Jason and their rock of a mother Carole.

small update. My friend is flying home today to be with his family. It looks like there is a good chance James will lose his leg. He still needs surgery on his broken hip but they are putting that off until they can determine what will be done with his leg. From what I hear, he is at the best trauma hospital in PA (Allegheny - something like that)

Anthony did read this yesterday and he wanted me to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers - he said he knows his family will appreciate it too. He will share this thread with his mother.

Carole, if you are reading this, you and your boys are in my thoughts. Take care of my baby while he is there with you. Love you all.

Well he is on his way home now. The doctor says they will know today whether or not they can save the leg - once they flush it out and check out the condition of his tissue and such. Hip surgery will be sometime this week.

Anthony called me this morning and said that James will have to have his leg amputated below the knee. They will do that and his hip surgery on the same day sometime this week when they can get the surgical team prepared.

He appreciates all of the thoughts and prayers. He is home now with his family. He did tell me that when he walked into his brothers room James had a smile on his face.

I am sure they would apprecitate any more good thoughts or prayers you may have to give. I greatly appreciate it too!!!
