Good Table Meal at or close to MGM

We are going to MGM one night and want a table service meal there.
Last I called, all the table service restaraunts at MGM were full. (I will keep calling in case of cancellations though)

Where is another place we could eat that is close to MGM, so we can leave, go eat, and come back later for Fantasmic!?

I thought about
Maya Grill at the Coronado. Is that good? Close?
Cape May Cafe-good? Close?

I heard water taxis can take you from MGM to a few resorts. Is it a long trip? Fun?

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Cape May is awesome, we love it there and I am not a seafood person (there is not that much seafood on the buffet but there is a ton of food)

Or you can try anyplace on the Boardwalk. Epcot is not far away either so maybe try those places? The Yachtsman at the Yacht club is very good too.

Hi,

You can walk or take a boat ride over to any of the restaurants on the Boardwalk, or at the Swan/Dolphin/Yacht Club/Beach Club. Those would be the closest restaurants to the Studios.

Yatchtsman Steakhouse is great, there's also Flying Fish at the boardwalk, a number of restaurants at the Swan / Dolphin, or any in world showcase in Epcot. The voats take about 5-10 minutes to get to the resorts, maybe an extra 5 minutes to get to Epcot.

We are going to Spoodles on our MGM night because we couldn't get a decent reservation at Mama Melrose. It's only a short boat ride away. We probably won't go back to MGM, though, but go back to the resort via Epcot.

Spoodles or Flying Fish on the Boarwalk would be good choices. You also have Beaches & Creme at the Beach club if you just want burgers etc... You can take a bus to MGM and than a boat to the Boardwalk or Beach Club ( it's the same boat ). You can also walk to the resort from MGM, it takes about 15 minutes.
