Do you have any good suggestions for good restaurants near Radio City Music Hall in NYC? We are going the Monday after Christmas and want to have dinner after the show. Don't want to get caught in a tourist trap but would love a good meal for not an outrageous price. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!:flower3:

Anything within a reasonable distance is going to be tourist trappy with prices. You're right in midtown, even a slice of pizza is expensive. We were just there today and ate at Ellen's Stardust Cafe. We love it there. Singing waitresses, 50's theme. Very cool. It's on the corner of Broadway and 51st.

The Hard Rock in Times Square, on Broadway between 43rd and 44th.

The Channel 4 Irish Pub is on 48th, right around the corner from Radio City and the tree. We've eaten there several times and love it. They were kid friendly too.

You can go here http://www.menupages.com/

Click on the left where it says WEST 50's. It'll bring up everything in that area, then you can click on things on the right to narrow the search by food type, what meal you are getting and other features you want. It really helps narrow down choices.

Have fun.

Thanks for the suggestions! It'll be my family (Me, DH, DD13 & DD16) and my parents. A lot of walking would be an issue for my mom but we do have a car service so we could get ourselves anywhere.

They recently opened Bill's Burger Bar right near rock center. It's on 51st between 5th and 6th - steps from radio city. It's a very good burger place and they serve salads and other stuff, too.

If you'd like a "nicer" meal, check out Bar American - also near rock center. A bobby flay restaurant.

We ate at Rosie O'Grady's which is near there. You can also eat in the bar area that has more sandwich type food. Have fun!:)

It is a "tourist trap" slightly, but well worth the trip! They serve family style Italian food! It is the area though, it would be hard to find a place in that area that is not.
Or the Mesa Grill is also delicious! I have never had a bad meal at either.

I must say though, I have never really had a bad meal in NYC! Go with reservations and a plan though - we have found ourselves wandering the streets too many times with no where to eat!

Ellen's Stardust Diner is very cool and you get entertainment-the wait staff all sing. We have had breakfast there on our last two trips. It's not even a matter of "touristy" that makes it expensive. It's Manhattan so most places will be expensive. There are tons of restaurants within a few blocks of Radio City.

We loved Bar Americain. Most of the restaurants are in the theater district which is a couple of blocks from Radio City, but very walkable, but it will probably be pretty cold.

A little bit of a walk, but I love Pigalle at 49th and 8th. It's a bistro. Prices are fair.

When we went to the show in November, we ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. The prices were not bad and the food was good. You can find the menu online if you google the restaurant. Have fun.

Seconding a vote for the Channel 4 pub!!!!

It was great, very close and I didnt think the prices were bad.

When people start getting hungry and on the verge of cranky you can often walk right in here (always busy but I never waited) and grab a bite.

Have fun!

Carmine's on 44th in Times Square is awesome! It is right near where 7th & Broadway intersect, across the street from Toys R US. We eat there everytime we are in the city. It is family style & the portions are huge. Share an entree with 2 or 3 people. Great meal & sharing makes it easy not to spend as much. (Hint: Salads are big, too. Only order 1 for the table)
