Woot! Twenty months ago I weighed in the morbidly obese range. My triglycerides were a critical 483(normal is <150). My blood sugar was about 180(should be < 120). And my HDL(good cholestral) was 23(should be >50). Today I am merely overweight(30-lbs to go, but hey! :yay:) My triglycerides are a healthy 78, the HDL is 45(almost normal), and my blood sugar is under control. :woohoo: I'm pretty stoked. I've got a ways to go, but I am so much healthier than I was. And I can easily buy things off the rack. In fact, I've given away all my fat clothes so there's no going back. Except one pair of gigantic drawers. I keep them hanging in my closet to remind myself where I've been.

CONGRATULATIONS!!
Keep up the good work!

Wow, that is fantastic! You have a lot to be proud of! :woohoo::cheer2::woohoo:

Congratulations! How much have you lost?

55-lbs. I"m almost at the weight I was when Christian was born--he's 15-1/2. I was normal weight until he was born. Then I started having pain in my feet and couldn't move as much. Then DH became seriously ill and my weight pretty much went into a spiral. I had a nervous breakdown in 2008 and the meds packed on about 25-lbs in about 3 months. The weight is coming off sloooooowly, but I'm definitely going in the right direction. I got side-tracked this spring after we had a terrible rollover accident--plateau'd for about 3 months due to depression in the aftermath. But I"m back in the saddle and ready to tackle the holidays.

Oh that's wonderful! I love when people share good news especially when it's about their health.:goodvibes

Awesome news that you lost the weight and got your triglycerides, cholesterol and A1C numbers down so much. You've done great! And getting rid of the "fat clothes" is a wonderful idea. It avoids the temptation to put on a bigger size when you gain a couple of pounds! If you have to wear tight pants, it helps to remind you to get back on the diet - at least that is how it works for me.

Good for you!! Great job on getting those numbers down..:thumbsup2
