HI everybody, I got some good news, I started a exersise regiment and eating heathy foods and little fast foods. I lost 21 pounds in 2 weeks. I walk 2-3 miles 3 times a week. I am trying to slim down to 190-195 lbs by spring. So far I went from 227lbs to 207 lbs by not eating too much fast food and eating dinner at home. Plus walking at a park on a 3.8 mile trail every weekend. :earsboy:

That's amazing!! Congrats and keep up the good work!!

Congrats Ron!!!! Keep up the good work and you'll reach your goal in no time!

I hate to be the one that 'rains' on the parade...but....that's simply NOT healthy! the vast body of evidence....compiled by the accepted medicial community....clearly..."weights" in...on the facts that a 1-2 pound per week Fat loss is sustainable..and healthy.....perhaps you've lost ALOT of water weight???....are you doing this under a doctor's supervision??

Don't get me wrong...I WHOLE heartily agree with your efforts...and your physical activity is paramount in reaching your goals...but...if in fact you're lean body weight has decreased by nearly 6 pounds per week....then...your really should be under a doctor's guidance during this time...:)

I wish you....well...as you proceed towards you're goals! :):):)

I've been trying to lose 10 lbs, work out 6 days a week, don't eat fast food (exept for pizza once a week), eating small portions, only drink water, coffee, and occasional diet pepsi. Guess how much I have lost? ZERO! And I've been trying for months!

Congratulations and best wishes for continued success!!

Amazing, keep up the good work. However, I think you might want to check in with a dcotor just to be "safe".

And denise, I'm in the same boat as you. Zero.

Herc.

That is great, Ron, but listen to the thoughts GP has added, very good they are. Now if I could just lose about 50 or so.

That is great! I second what GP says though. He gives very good advice...slow and steady wins the race...and keeps it off.

WOW Ron! :)

Man, that's a lot!!! It's taken me 14 weeks to lose
38 lbs and I felt like I was going really fast! Of course,
I had lots to lose so it goes faster at first. You didn't
mention drinking fluids. You need to keep up your fluid
intake, especially with all your excersize.
If your body thinks you are fasting, it will stop
you from losing further. Remember to get in your
five fruits and veggies every day and take a vitamin.
The excersize sounds great and you are so right to NOT
deprive yourself completely of those foods you love, ie,
the fast food once in a while. You can make healthier
choices by not getting the "biggie" meals and choosing
things like chili and a baked potato OR a salad and french
fries. I take my own dressing, it's a great balsamic I make
with fresh herbs and a little high quality olive oil. I've even
discovered that "White Castle" has the world's smallest
french fry serving. I went to "light" popcorn too - not the
really dry, yucky stuff but about 1/2 the fat of regular.
I'm also eating oatmeal and raisins in the mornings-great
for your heart, lots of fiber and the raisins sweeten the
oatmeal if you put them in and let them plump up with the
moisture and heat of the oatmeal. yadda yadda yadda -
good luck on your goal and start thinking now about
what you'll do to maintain this loss - most ignore the
maintenance plan and the weight just creeps up again.

I think this is great news. I also think you should proceed with caution. That a lot of weight for 2 weeks.

Always remember weight that is losed rapidly usually returns rapidly.

Please be careful and do ask your dr for some input. It is awesome that you are doing this, and you have more drive than I, I can diet but I hate the exercise...I have to literally force myself to do it :(

Good luck and please se the Dr.

Thanks for your advice. However you are quite right I might have gone about it the wrong way but no ill effect came out of this. in fact i am going to take it easy untill spring when I will slowly persuit my exercise regiment and only walk when i can. :D
