I called Delta today, after reading an article in the LI Newsday Sunday indicating that Delta had expanded it's window for changes without fees. The woman I spoke to was very nice, but had not heard anything about any changes to previous policy and told me that we were subject to the $50 change fee per ticket (we were scheduled to fly out of JFK less than 18 hours after the US began strikes in Afghanistan-NOT). I laughingly told her that in the newspaper article, it said that many Delta reps. were unaware of the new rules, and asked her to please check it out. She said she certainly would, and put me on hold for a couple of minutes. When she came back, she said that my information was correct, and that they had waived any change fees! So if you cancelled a flight out of JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark after 9/25, you can still get the change fees waived and apply the total cost of your tickets to future travel through March 31, 2002! Call, and be persistent! Many reps. don't know about this, so you may want to go straight to Customer Service. Good Luck!
