The good news is that more of DF's family will get to come, but the bad news makes everything so much worse. His family that has decided to come owns a timeshare right off of Disney property and, get this, all of his dad's side of the family will be staying in the timeshare. That's like 21 or more rooms in my roomblock that I can't fill now!!!:scared1: I am starting to really freak out here. I have no idea what to do because I have already signed the contract. Help!

It's OK!

First off, it's not rooms you need to fill, it's nights. So if you needed to fill, say 25 nights, you could do it with just 5 couples staying 5 nights apiece.

Second, you can always post your room block here to see if anyone is going to WDW on your dates and can add their reservation number to your block (and take advantage of your discount).

And third, if it really looks like you're not going to make your minimum, talk to your Wedding Consultant (the one who drew up the contract). They can lower the minimum if you give up your free night.

Don't worry!

The same thing is happening to me. A good portion DF's family own a timeshare and are all staying at Bonnet Creek. I have almost half our room nights filled from my family and hope we can get the rest filled. I thought I would try to get some help on the dis to fill the block when it gets closer. Since they are all staying off site, I am really worried about getting everyone to the ceremony since we are in Epcot.

I'm not really worried about making the 25 night requirement so much as having to pay for nights that are in the room block that I probably won't be using now.

Since they are all staying off site, I am really worried about getting everyone to the ceremony since we are in Epcot.

We had a bunch of people stay off-site in a timeshare and our ceremony was in Epcot, so we gave them the bus schedule and told them they had to be at one of those resorts by the time listed or they would not be going to the ceremony. I believe the headline on our newsletter was "If you miss the bus, you miss the ceremony." No one missed the bus. :thumbsup2

I'm not really worried about making the 25 night requirement so much as having to pay for nights that are in the room block that I probably won't be using now.

Then talk to your WC about lowering the number of nights in your room block. I have never heard of anyone actually having to pay for unused nights - they are flexible.
