Good Neighbor Hotel Package, Add Extra Guest At Check-In

Hello everyone,

We are considering booking a package for à Disneyland good neighbor hotel for 1 guest, and add another one at check-in.

Obviously the capacity of the room will not be reached.

Is this something that will be allowed by the hotel? (We don't care about paying an extra fee if required.)

There won't be an extra fee. In fact, I don't believe I've ever been asked who will be joining me in my room. Is there a reason not to just start with 2 on the reservation?

Kind of not your question, but you might want to consider pricing out what it would cost to book everything separately before you book a package. "Good neighbor" doesn't carry any special qualifications, just that the hotel or chain paid a premium price to Disney to have that designation. Also some of the good neighbor hotels are a ridiculous distance away. They'll tell you they are "one block away" but it's really more like a mile to the actual entrance. Often the packages are not a great deal at all, (unless you're super excited about luggage tags, "souvenir" lanyards, or a photo op) and you can often save hundreds by booking separately and calling the hotel directly for good prices.

Re: the check in: is it that you're not sure who will be there, or someone's arriving late? They're not likely to come do a room check to see if you've got extra people in there.

Thanks for your kind replies!

DW intended to upgrade her WDW AP to a Premier pass, however since the price of the Premier jumped 20% during the night, we won't be doing that anymore. We will be able to book a package with the intended number of guests.

For those who wondered, we do know that Disneyland packages are nothing special. It's just that the room type we were looking for was available only through Disney, not directly by the hotel.
