Thought we could spend a magical non-park day @ FW :squirrel: (we’ve never ventured over here before & have Always wanted to), either 9/4 or 9/6 DH, myself & dds 6 & 4, any advice/help whatsoever, would be greatly appreciated!

3:00 Pony Rides & Petting Farm ~ I understand not many animals, but w/dds 2 little goats would be enough, anymore a bonus! Pony rides...is this time OK, how much, is it worth it?
4:00 CS Dinner ~ boat to Captain Cook's at the Poly, boat to Contemporary food court or bus/boat to Roaring Forks at WL? Haven't decided here, waiting to see what you all have to say.:)
5:30 Catch-and-Release Cane Pole Fishing ~ available without advance reservations Cost: Cane Pole & Worms - $4/hour OR Family Fishing - $12.50/hour (up to 6 people).
7:30 Campfire Sing-A-Long ~

Times are all just approx. however wanted to have some idea so we end up @ the campfire. If I’m way-off anywhere, plz don’t hesitate to let me know. Any Advice/Reviews, price info, you name it, etc, etc…??? :thanks: so much!

Are you doing CS because of DDP?
If not, I would do Trail's End for a wonderful, relaxing and filling meal.
Pony rides are good for that age. Last time we did them they were $3 and worth it, probably have gone up. The CM helps them get on and then you lead the kids around a little track. The petting farm is ok - good for small kids who never see animals - it is free, food is in containers nearby - bring change. I think your time is a little late - I thought rides were from 10 -3 someone with more info out there????
7:30 is a good time to get to the sing a long. The singalong starts at 8 and that gives you time to get there and make smores. Bring your own supplies or they sell little kits at the campfire.
To get to the Poly you would need to take boat to MK or Cont. and then monorail to Poly, I think
FW is a great way to spend the day!

Thank you both so much!! Poly is out for this day (just a little too much work) & Yes we are on the DP + kids also love Disney transportation, even though we have our Dvan.:drive:
Pony rides sound great, I will just try to confirm $ & time. Also do you mean we can buy food for the petting farm?
Thanks again, I can hardly for our FW day! :goodvibes

Yes, there used to be those little feeder things outside the petting farm with food for the animals - can anyone confirm this is still there? We will be there in a week and I will check and try to get back to you with times, $ etc. It is also not too far to WL, if you wanted to do CS there. But we like the boat ride to the Cont. - small boat and lots of fun. Also, check out the pressed penny machines as you get off the elevator on the floor for CM. They have several all lined up with different designs.

The adult leading the pony needs to have on closed-toe shoes. This is a stated requirement, but not always enforced, but I'd wear them to be safe.

You don't have any playground time on your schedule. There is a very nice playground in the marina area and it is a popular site for kids the ages of yours.

Another food option is to take a few paper plates and get one TE dinner to go. Sit on the porch at the picnic tables and have a fun meal.

Enjoy your FW day!!

My son claims the arcade at the food court in the Contempory is the best on Disney. Just something to think about in the budget

lunch = $10.00
arcade = $20.00
kid wanting to spend all week at arcade "*@%@" PRICELESS.
and all of those little tickets ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Jeff

forget the arcade and take them kids fishing....

let them feel the tug of the fish............

i can confirm wheter or not there are any food despensers for the animals anymore. there isnt they took them out bc ppl kept jamming them with stuff other than money. :confused: dont know why ppl would do that but anyway..

we were there the weekend of July 22, the pony rides are now $4.. and there is a height limit of 48". My DD6 was quite upset that she was too tall for the pony ride!! Anyhow, we noticed that they took out most of the goats and stuff and it is now a pony farm with signs posted not to pet or feed the ponies. We were a bit disappointed... not what it use to be. But you can still walk through the horse stalls and look at all the big horses. If you are wanting to pet some goat, AK would be your best bet!
