Hi guys! As the title suggests, I could do with some recommendations for hotels close to St. Pancras, as I'm thinking of travelling by Eurostar in December. As we live in Manchester, we'd need to travel down the night before and we're looking for a handy hotel that isn't too expensive but isn't a dump either! I'm grateful for any suggestions. :)

There are a couple of Travel Lodges close by and I think a Premier Inn. Last December I Ihad to go to London for a work conference and stayed in the Novotel on the Main Rd between Euston and St Pancras and it was very very nice but a bit more expensive than Travel Lodge etc

Hi there!

I'm staying at the Premier Inn the night before and I think it is a 2-5 min walk from St Pancras. It has really good reviews and as a regular user of Premier Inn I think they do provide great rooms at budget prices. It is also more cheaper to stay during the weekend.

I had thought of staying at Travelodge because they are cheaper but I read some reviews on Trip Advisor that there are bed bugs and people actually posted photos as proof! It's a much cheaper hotel and obviously it depends on your luck whether your experience is good or bad, but I would just be cautious.

Hope that helps!

Hi, we stayed at the Travelodge on Gray's Inn Road last week. Once on the way there and once on the way back!
From the window of the breakfast room/bar on the first floor you can see Kings Cross the station next to St Pancreas so only a 4-5 min walk.
The rooms were basic and the whole place seemed a little tired looking but it was clean and cheap and the staff were helpful.
The only problem we had was the train noise - obviously being close to the stations you get a quite alot of noise. We live in a village at the end of a cul-de-sac so you can imagine how noisy it felt to us when usually the only noise we hear is foxes fighting in the front garden!! We did all sleep though - that's me, dh and the two littlies (7 & 5).
Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it! :thumbsup2

One night at the nearby Premier Inn would cost £90, which isn't too bad. I know the Travelodge would be cheaper but I had quite a negative experience last time I stayed at one.

I must admit that I usually prefer the Premier Lodge to the Travelodges. It was a money choice for us this time so we went with the cheaper Travelodge.

We stayed at the Premier Inn when we went in September and it was wonderful. Couldn't fault the room or the hotel, the staff were very friendly & helpful and it is very close to the station. They do a good breakfast too!!

Have a great trip - wish I was going back... :goodvibes
