Good free/cheap place

I am looking for a GOOD free or cheap place to find obituaries online. Right now I am using genealogybank.com, and have found lots of obits but wondered where else I can look.

Newspapers are one thing that doesn't have a central database when doing genealogy research -- unlike things such as census records.

A lot depends on what state or portion of the country you are looking for obituaries in. Where (what is the local) that you are trying to locate obituaries for?

Ancestry.com has a lot of newspapers and obituaries. While ancestry.com is not free, you can usually access it for free at an area library.

The Library of Congress has put up a lot of newspaper on their Chronicling America Web site. However they only scan newspaper that have not been digital by other newspaper projects. http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/
