Just linked tickets for a trip in November but was curious to see FP+ availability at different periods. At 5pm today looked at MK for today and everything was available other than Mine Train. Even was going to give me Elsa and Anna at 10pm! (I cancelled them immediately!)

Any insights as to whether booking your initial 3 is from the same pool as people booking the 4th and later ones? Was pleasantly surprised by how much was open.

There are a couple of different theories:

1. Disney releases groups of FP+ reservations at different times so not everything is available at 60 days out.

2. Different people see different options based on whatever criteria Disney has determined for them.

I'm sure there are others, but those seem to be the biggies.

Missyrose,
Why would Disney show people different options for FP+? Just curious. If that's true, that's pretty unfair.

Maybe based on the time slots you picked for your other two FPs - it won't show others available if you've booked something that will conflict I think...

Disney could also build a "profile" of things you like. And decide you are not a A&E person, you are a SpaceM person or what ever, and give you options more tailored to your likes.

Both of those are untrue. Early on, some FP+ times were held back but that was halted months ago. The second never happened.

Based on what exactly?

Someone had posted an e-mail response about a month ago saying that no fastpasses were being held back for day of. The tier system at Epcot & DHS is a way that they do actually hold back. Without it, I don't think you would see Soarin or TT available at 30 days.

Not to be cynical, but Disney hasn't always been all that truthful when it comes to answering guest questions about how things work in the parks.

I am a Florida resident, who goes once month. I have planned trip with a day notice. Always get the usual e-ticket rides. No Anna and Elsa, mine train, fireworks, or parades as expected though.

Missyrose,

While I agree that it's unfair, in my opinion it's central to the whole concept of FP+. Legacy FP was the most fair, "free market" way to distribute FP's. They didn't like it, and rather than let the free market work, they want to control FP's. Hello FP+...the mirage of fairness. We have no clue what's going on behind the curtain. They build a new $1B toy where they can be almost completely non-transparent. I would be shocked if they don't show different options to different people, most likely based on where they are staying. I'll bet dollars to donuts that concierge at GF will get better 4th FP options than some poor off-site schmuck.
