I'm trying to get my 9 year old son psyched up for our trip. He's not a very excitable kid in general, and we found out we were going on this trip on short notice (never planned a trip to WDW with less than a year before - let alone a month like this!) He hasn't been in over 4 years and is thrilled to do the RocknRollercoaster, but hasn't expressed interest in much else. I remember from when we took the kids when they were little there was a MK video (actually filmed in DL) and I think we have it somewhere. He's seen Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion (the movies).

Unfortunately on the plane we couldn't get seats together (all middles scattered throughout the plane :sad2: ) but I thought he could have the DVD player and I'd like to get him something Disney-ey to get him in the mood. For before it can be DVD or video. Any recommendations?! I've ordered the planning video, but don't know how long it will take to get it! And I bought him the Birnbaum's kids book. Thanks for any help!

Swiss Family Robinson :)

The attraction is gone but my boys 9 and 7 like the old Disney movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The also watched Lion King 1 1/2 recently and thought it was funny. Another option is Indiana Jones.

ITA with Swiss Family Robinson.

How abou Pirates of the Carribean or Haunted Mansion since those are two things you'll be able to ride when you get there? My ds is 11 and loves both of them. You can give him a roll of pennies and a couple of rolls of quarters and print out the list of penny press machine locations to go with them and have him go through the Birnbaum's book with the list and mark which ones are near attractions he wants to go on so you can be on the look out for them while there. Also, when you board speak to a flight attendant about asking someone to switch seats so you can sit together. It could be that no one will be willing to but then they just might be in a good mood and agree to switch!

Peter Pan, Holes, Not Disney but Scoopy Doo 2 and Shrek 2
