I'm not familiar with the area (good and bad neighborhoods to be in) we are heading there 7/25-7/29 (dh barely got the okay from his work to go for sure)

Any budget friendly hotels out that way? But clean?!
My other thought is to go with home wood suites or stay bridge and make food..... But any way to get those rates down?
We are also hoping to find a discount to wild waters?!

Help!! Lol

It all depends on the time of the year. Reno can have good rates if nothing is going on in town. You can sign up with the emails at the hotels.

Are you staying in Reno or Tahoe? It is not like they are right around the corner from one another. It is a little bit of a drive to either one. Same thing with Tahoe. Sign up with emails for the hotels there.

Tahoe is going to be a whole lot more expensive than Reno.

I just booked a hotel in Reno. Started with our old standbye, Holiday Inn Express. They wanted $120 a night. So I checked Harrahs....$60 a night!
I have stayed at Harrahs before, but years ago, and it was nice. Hope it still is.

its this weekend :-)

Either Tahoe or Reno will do as we are doing the lake one day, Virginia City another and Wild Waters another :-) We are leaning towards Reno but open to Tahoe. (we may do 2 lake days if Wild waters has no deals)

Anywho we just want clean(no smoke smell especially), two Qs and in a good part of town.

The Grand does have good deals if you sign up for the email. I am going to look for you and see if anything is going on to drive up your costs.

There are a few things going on that will drive up the costs. They have the food fair going on. And Lake Tahoe has The Shakespeare Festival. Starting July 29th starts Hot August nights which hotels are always full.

But the food fair in the street is fun, so much food to choose from. I think they have different kinds of booths as well.

The Great Ballon Race starts in Sept.

Love Lake Tahoe. Our favorite place to stay is Lakewood Village in South Lake Tahoe. They have everything from houses right on the lake to townhouses, condos and standard hotel rooms. We've stayed twice in the townhouses and love the beach access. However, I've usually gone in the shoulder season to get the best rates. Good luck!

Plug your dates into Hotels.com. There are usually some good rates at the Reno strip hotels. We stayed at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno last weekend. We could have gotten a better rate elsewhere, but we liked the amenities there. I recall that Circus Circus had really low rates, even for the weekends.

My family has a cabin in South Lake Tahoe. My sister is up there right now and says the weather is beautiful! Have a great trip!:)

The Grand Sierra Resort has great rates if you sign up with the emails. But when when things are going on hotels are costly.
