We purchased 2 tonight for Christmas. We printed off 2 10% off coupons on the Target website good on any Ipod. Then we used the Target charge card to get another 5% off. This week with the purchase of a 32g ipod you get a $20 Target gift card. So for $565 total we got the 2 ipods plus $40 in gift cards. The usually run $299 each. Not too bad of a deal.

I don't think I understand. I was just looking at iPods on apple.com, and the 160 GB were $249. What do I not get about this whole iPod thing.

This is all my 13 year old wants for Christmas so grandma bought it for her. I am so glad that grandma got it cause it was even less money due to extra discount.

My DD has the 32gb. She has had it a few years now. In fact, she just bought herself the Sprint I-Phone so she is letting her DBF have her I-Pod touch. I am not too happy about that since I paid for the I-Pod touch for her. She said she is just letting him "use" it. She was going to buy him one for Christmas (she is 19), but she isn't sure she can afford it because she wanted to get him something else too. I have been watching the sales on these for her so she can get him one. I figured maybe when it gets closer to Black Friday. I actually got hers on Black Friday either 2 or 3 years ago.. I cannot even remember. I know I got it at Wal-Mart online with a kit.. there was a case, some charges (for the car) and some other things too that came with it.. prior to that, I had been getting her the I-pod Nano's on Apple's site... with their free engraving.. she was younger then and this way it was less likely to get stolen :thumbsup2

OP - Was the regular price $299?

I saw the black one online for $274. Just wondering if the black one was on sale for $274 in stores.

I have the 10% off coupon too and am debating whether to go to Target and get one or just order from Amazon.

If it's $299 at Target, I think the Amazon deal is better with no tax, free shipping. Even with the 10% off and the $20 gift card at Target. If Target is $274, then Target deal is better.

Decisions, decisions.........

To top it off, my niece starts working at Target next Friday. I wonder if she can get a discount. Hmmmmm.........

Employee discount is 10%. But you can only use it with cash, check, or Target card. It will not work with your bank debit/credit card.

But if you use the 10% iPod coupon, 10% employee discount and 5% target card discount, you are looking at 23% off any iPod you choose!

Does anyone know if in store the 8gb is 189, like online. If so, and with the 10% and then the 5% for the target cc, that would be the best deal ive found, even with tax

OP here....I believe the original starting price was 295 in store. I don't know about the 8g price, sorry. Based on what I was seeing it was the best deal for us.

The Target card is a credit card, right? I don't really want another credit card. I can get 20% off then with my niece's discount and the 10% off coupon. But, I have to pay tax. It is probably about the same as Amazon. But, I would get the $20 gift card if they have that deal in a couple of weeks. She doesn't start until next week.

I think I'll hold off and wait to see if Target will have an even better deal for Black Friday.

Thank you, I was just wondering about that this morning. I think I may wait then.....
