Gonna book with Costco Travel...but what about the transfer bus from MCO?

Costco Travel looks like the most likely candidate for my cruise purchase at this point, but the big question now becomes, how do I get from MCO to Port Canaveral and back? Can I still book a transfer on the Disney bus? Making a couple of practice passes on the Costco website before I commit, it takes me all the way to the end payment, but with no option for transfer.

So how does that work? Do I have to book the bus ride seperately through Disney (website)? Book with another company for a non-Disney transfer to and from? Or what? (Would prefer the Disney bus)

If your TA doesn't include the option of including the DCL transfers when you make your reservation, you can just call DCL (or the TA will - you would have to call them and tell them to do this) and have them added.

Ok, just as long as it's possible to book a Disney bus after I buy the cruise through someone else. It kinda threw me there for a second because I was just about ready to commit when I realized Costco didn't include the bus.

DCL transfers can be booked at any time up to 3 days prior to the cruise. You just need to call them to do so.

We booked with Costco and asked them to add Disney transfers for us. We did it when we called to make a payment right before final payment was due. (Not when we booked initially).

When I called DCL to add transfers they referred me back to my TA. I would just call Costco and have them add it, saving you the phone call to DCL.

I booked my cruise with Costco, and they told me I could add the Disney transfers later on. They suggested I do it a week before the trip at the latest.

Very good to know.

To those who have used Costco Travel for DCL booking, how does early online check-in work?

And also, how do you book excusions ahead of time with DCL if you've booked through Costco Travel?

Checkin and excursions are things you do in your own, even when going through Costco.

What do you mean? Do I call DCL to set ip this stuff, or Costco, or what?

Once your online check in and excursion booking windows open (for first time DCL cruisers this is at 75 days out from cruise), you can book your own excursions. You must be paid in full to book excursions. So, you should make sure to have the last payment to your TA early enough that DCL will have received it by your booking window opening.

So even though I book through Costco Travel, when the time comes and I'm PIF, I can then book excursions through DCL website?

Thanks, I'll read through that.

Yes, once you've Paid in Full, you can do your own excursion bookings.

And, you can do you own online check in when your window opens (don't have to be Paid in Full for that, though. Although, coincidentally, your PIF date and checkin/booking windows will most likely be the same day.).

lol, I just want to make sure I understand this crystal clear. :rotfl:

So once I book via Costco, how is my info uploaded to DCL website? Do I enter in a booking number? And then from there the DCL website opens up to me?

Costco made the reservation on the DCL site for you. There is a reservation number. All the information that you would have provided had you made the reservation, your TA submitted. The reservation is in the DCL system, not in the Costco system.

You need to go to the DCL website and set up an account. Then, when your window opens, you go to the DCL website, log in to your account and access your reservation (by using your reservation number and birthdate). Then you can do your online checkin and book any excursions you are interested in.

Ok, I see now. :hippie:

But if that's the case, then it sounds like I don't need to deal with Costco when booking the transfer bus, right? Because I could just do it on the DCL website?

Or I would still have to contact Costco and tell them to book me the bus?

No, the only way to book the DCL bus is when making the original reservation (if you book the reservation yourself), or by calling and adding the transfers. I believe your TA will need to handle this.

As someone who's booked through costco it's very simple... Just think of them as any other TA... Everyone on board regardless of where you booked, dcl directly, TA, other website, after you are paid in full and your booking window opens (earlier for previous cruisers) you can complete online checkin on the dcl site and start booking excursions, dining, etc. on your own... From this point any special requests or additional services can be booked with Disney directly.... Prior to your paid in full date any financial transactions or changes will need to be passed through costco or your TA... You can still call Disney with questions and they'll still do small things like dining requests and answer questions but your experience may vary depending on the agent.

When you booked with Costco you should have received a PDF receipt with you details which will have a costco booking number and your Disney reservation number at the top of the page.

I just confirmed this myself with Costco Travel yesterday, you book the Disney Transfer through your TA (Costco Travel).
