We have a GV at BLT booked this upcoming December for a long weekend with the extended family. Some of them have expressed a desire to head down early and get some golf in. I am out of points ( we moved this trip up a year) and considered renting but, the focus of these few days would be golf (perhaps some spa time) so why pay Disney prices?
Does anyone have a recommendation for golf resorts in Orlando?
Thanks!

There are many, many courses in Orlando and near Disney.

Orange County National, Reunion Resort and Championsgate are three resorts with multiple courses.

If you want high-end, the Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria have courses.

If you want to save some cash, look on golfnow.com or teeoff.com for deals.

My 2 cents is that Orange County National is the best, especially for skilled golfers who like a challenge, but you can't go wrong with any of these.

I travel to this area several times a year to play golf. Evermore is the best option if you are looking to play and stay at the same place, although its tough on the wallet. The Orange County National courses have the best practice area around, and are a great choice for a lower price tag (comparatively, still expect to pay $100+ per round at any decent course in the area). If you are okay with staying somewhere and travelling to the courses, then just book something on GolfNow the night before, there are many good courses on there and you can score some good last minute discounts. Remember in December Florida is one of the only places in the game for reliable golf weather, so the courses up the prices accordingly.

Even if I am out of points😞?
Yes, you don't use points for getaways. On the DVC home page, click on Destinations. In the drop down box under Destinations you'll see "World Collection" and "Vacation Exchange" . Click on Vacation Exchange, and it'll take you through to the Interval International Portal. You'll see where you can click through to getaways and be able to search.

As Brian said, very affordable in off season. Might even be cheaper to book the full week and leave early vs. getting a hotel room.

You might want to consider Orange Lake Resort since it can be fairly economical and has 2 golf courses. It’s right near WDW.

My uncle used to go to Orange Lake for a couple weeks every winter. I am not sure how serious of a golfer he was, but he did play those courses a lot.

Another vote for the Evermore Resort. Shingle Creek is also a great golf course with a resort on property.
Thank you. I will add it to my research list.
I returned from SSR last night, it sure would be easy just to stay there and call it a day. But I am going to look into all these suggestions.

I live about 17 miles from the world in Southern Dunes. November and December are the most expensive months for rounds of golf. June, July and August are the offseason here.
