We have a trip booked for Jan / Feb 2027 , and wondering about renting a cart from an outside vendor ? The last time we were at the Fort (2022) , we rented a cart from an outside vendor for 2 weeks . We just had to travel off property and pick it up from the vendor using their trailer and bring it into the Fort ourselves , then return the empty trailer back to them . Then in reverse at the end of our trip .
Did Disney completely close this loop hole by requiring cart insurance now ? Hard to find updated information on this .
Thanks !

Check with your prior vendor, @Syndrome. I've heard of one vendor (might be yours?) mentioned here that has insurance and gives the Fort guest the info needed to get in the gate with the cart. Other people in the past have reported here that there were no problems.

So the loop hole has not been closed.

@Syndrome

I also typically rent from an outside vendor and do the pick up and drop off shuffle. I have always used Kenny and he provides you a Proof of Insurance document you show when bringing it in the first time. The vendors that had been following the last round of rules were able to work with Disney to satisfy the insurance requirement. Some vendors that had not been as compliant were not able to continue.

PM me and I'll send you the details on "Kenny" if you don't have it. I don't want to get us in trouble with the sheriff for promoting a business.

Thanks @bama_ed and @Teamubr .
The golf cart vendor we have used in the past was actually "Kenny" I think . Dont want to say the business name , but if it started with a "T" , then that was him . Great to work with , so I hope they are still able to do the "off site , but bring it in yourself "rentals . I do remember last time picking it up off site , but were told to just leave it up front by the bus loop cart parking because they had another guest renting it. Easy peasy .
Thanks for the help , will give "Kenny" a call .

That's the one. He and Kristin are great to work with. Their phone ends with 4571

Yeah and the less posted on public message boards about how the operations of outside vendors work (because they have so many customers one-after-the-other wanting their products) the better.

Because 'The Machine' is way too busy to pay attention to our small details.

But yes I've used K-T in the past but not since the insurance requirement was put in place. I just got home from a Fort trip today and rented a golf cart from Disney for 1-day. The higher daily rate for a short rental like that was worth the convenience. If I'd wanted one for an entire week, I would not have rented from Disney but instead I would have followed Disney's rules (unspoken) for off-site cart rentals.

Thanks @Teamubr and @bama_ed .
I hooked up with Kenny , and we are all set for January / February 2027 for a few weeks !
That's great!

I may have to give them a call too. We are only going for a week instead of our usual 10-14 days. 3 or 4 days is my line on doing Disney vs someone else. February 2027 will sneak up fast.

Same here . If our stay was less than a week , we would just rent the cart from the Fort and pay the "Disney Tax" . Since we will be staying approx. 2 weeks , it made more sense to rent with Kenny / Kristin once again . Glad they can still offer the service !

We will be at the Fort the last week of January, @Syndrome , also.

We will be last week of Jan / First week of Feb . Reserved Full Hook Up this time around . We are usually in Preferred 300 loop , but we opted to save a few Disney bucks and go with just full hook-up . Technically we could do a "tent" site to save even more $$$ as we have a small (18') teardrop (NuCamp T@B 400) , but the full hook up will come in handy so we can dump our tanks at will .
Hoping to get an outerloop site in 1600 or 1800 , preferably on the canal (thats usually what we get in the 300 loop) .
