Golf cart cost? How many fit in it?

How much does it cost to rent a golf cart at the Fort for a week? How many fit in it? There are 6 of us - will DH have to make to trips to get us back and forth?

If we don't have one - how long are the walks from the cabins to the bus stops, the restaurants and the boat dock? Is it longer than the walk back to a room at a All Star from the bus stops? After a long day at the parks, are my little ones going to collapse after the boat ride before getting back to the cabins?

Disney carts are meant to fit 4 adults, but you can usually squish in an extra or 2 (depending on size) - and kids squish even better.

This thread mentions some off-site rental places as well - some of which also have 6 person carts available (and all of which are cheaper than Disney).

Cabins aren't at all close to the marina/restaurant (Settlement area) unfortunately. Bus stops are plentiful, but how far your actual cabin is from the closest depends on where you are in the loop. If you're somewhere in the middle, it might be a bit of a walk to/from the bus.

Not sure about the comparison to All Stars - someone else may have more info there.

We've squished 4 adults and 2 kids into one. Sssh, don't tell Disney.

But I have to tell you that even though the carts are expensive to rent, its really the best part about being at the Fort. We love to cruise around and look at other loops.

Since the first time we camped and did not get one, we realized we needed one. Especially during the holidays. For the 4th of July you can enter the golf cart parade and during Christmas we loop for hours checking out everyone's decorations. People decorate more at the fort then in our own neighborhood. It is amazing! If you can find a way to fit it in the budget I would say do it. If even for a few days while you are there.
