Golden Vehicles

Can you request to ride a golden vehicle or is it just your luck that you get to ride one if it just happens to be available when your turn comes?

As I remember in Oct. it was just luck..........there is a golden tea cup for photgraphs near the castle and I think a Mr Toad car too. Also a gold autotopia car at DLH . They make great pictures !

There was also a golden Dumb and a golden Peter Pan ship outside the ride for photographs. Other than that it is the first person in line to choose the gold vehicle that gets it. I suppose you could forogo your turn and be first in line for the next turn to get a chance on the gold one, but they might not let you do that. At Autopia my son had on his birthday button and on his 4th or 5th trip that day asked the person sending us to the number if he could have a gold one. The guy was nice enough to hold us and then send up to the number for the gold one when it came around.

Thanks Snow Brite for the info. If we can't get on the golden vehicles, at least we can get pictures from the different vehicles located outside the rides.

not sure you could wait for is Dumbo, since they let the people in via the handicapped gate first, and in the hour we were in line I think my son was the only kid in the regular line to luck out and have the folks from the handicapped line not take the golden Dumbo. Maybe if you go early or late and there isn't a line at the second gate they'd let you wait.

Your best bet is to go early, at opening, when Fantasyland is not crowded. One morning my kids got the gold Dumbo then walked right over to the gold teacup (as you can see by sig picture!). And you never know, sometimes kids, girls in particular, want the pink or purple Dumbo as opposed to the gold one because they are too little to get the signifcance. Which is how we have gotten it both times! There are so many wonderful photo ops in the park now during the 50th. I love the picture collages even better than the gold vehicles!

I agree with the go early tip, especially during EE. Over the summer we were able to get the Golden Dumbo and Tea Cup, just by telling the CM we would wait for the next ride since no one else was in line, or going near the line.

Then last month we were able to do the same with the tea cup and Carousel.
