I am new to the boards so excuse me if this has been answered before. I recently went to WDW and as a surprise to me, my wife purchased the Golden Ears from the Emporium knowing that I was looking to add them to my VMK collection. The problem is that she did not know to ask for the code when she bought it. She presented the Ears to me after we left WDW so I am having difficulty getting the code. I called the switchboard at WDW and after being directed several places I was told to contact VMK from the site. Does anyone answer the e-mails at VMK? Is there a better route to go? I have the receipt, I have the ears. I am looking for information only and any help would be greatly appreciated. :confused3

Your wife would have had to buy the ears (or any hat) at Le Chapeau in WDW not the Emporium.

I'm not sure if VMK would send you a code after the fact. Even if you fib a little and say she got you the gold ears in LeChapeau and you never got the card.

Good luck, I've been writting to VMK every day for a week and they have yet to answer my question, as to why when I got the card for the gold mickey ears and put in the code, it gave me a pin instead. No answer yet from them.

I received the code from helpful people and the same thing happened where I got a pin. Let me know if they get back to you. I will be sending e-mails to themas well.

Ok, you are the third person I know that it happend to.
When you write to them be sure to include the code.

I still haven't heard from them. I guess they could have got the whole week off for the holidays, but somehow I doubt it.

My experience has been they will not help on this. I got the code for the hat because I knew to ask for the card with any of the things we bought, but we had problems with the quests and the tour and they responded once saying they would look into it or something and then never heard back. that was October, anything I have sent about anything recent has not even been responded to.

I might have some gold ears I can give you...let me know if you do not get the problem resolved.

We had some problems putting on our codes in the beginning. The first three codes I put in were fine; they were the Holiday Quest codes from one of the two sets we got. Then I tried the next set of three Holiday Quest codes, none of them worked. You can guess how I felt. I tried some of the other quest codes and none of them seemed to work.

I don't remember the reason but I rebooted the computer, in desperation I guess. The codes still didn't work. I rebooted it again and one of the codes that haven't worked before -now worked. So I tried the other Holidays quest codes and they worked. I think I entered all the rest of those 3 cards and just one or two more before VML closed that day.

The next day a couple of them worked and a couple didn't. I didn't know what was going on. I called my husband in to look at them, and he said that several of the letters looked like numbers and vice versa: B-8, S-5, G-6. OK, I'll admit my eyesight has been going downhill since I turned 40.

So he entered a couple of the ones that I couldn't get to work the day before and they worked fine for him. So I went and got the magnifying glass and used that to look at the codes and from then on I didn't have any problems with any of them. I wasn't in any hurry to enter them all, so to make them last longer I was only doing about 5 a day.

They were doing fine, that is until I got to the first of the two gold ears cards we got. And the code it's self did work, it just gave me the wrong thing. I feel that it is definitely a manufacturing problem were they mixed up the codes on those particular cards

Yeah, I’ve sent them emails on various things in the game, sometimes they answered, but mostly they didn't. However is doesn't cost me anything to keep writing to them. I wrote the first email in a word document, then cut and pasted it into the VMK browser. I saved that document file so I wouldn't have to rewrite it everyday.

Every day I check my inventory for the ears; then I check my email to see if they have answered in any way; and then I sent them a new email about the ears. I've been numbering them so they will see that I'm persistent in this.

It Starts:
“Email #5 ~ January 1, 2005

blah, blah, WDW Dec. 23 blah, blah, gold Mickey ears, blah, blah, Gold Mickey Card 3 of 6, code gave me wrong thing, blah, pin, blah, card code was: # -----------. blah, blah I'll be checking my inventory everyday. blah, blah.

I tell them I had one set of gold ears to start with that I got through a trade, but I still want the ones I should have got for the hats we bought in WDW.

Maybe when I get to email #100, they will do something just to shut me up. :teeth:

I feel that it is really important to include the code on the card so they can check it, however they check these things, and that I’m not just some Yahoo asking for free things.

awww, you are so nice.

I plan to keep asking them until they at least answer me.

I don't know how, but I ended up with about 6 or 7 gold ears. I have 2 reserved for CL_CaptainBrain's inferno fund, and one for me, but I will gladly give you one if you haven't already gotten one. I'm usually on in the 2-3 hours before vmk closes, and usually in a trade room or one of my own rooms. You can search for "Miakoda" in room list or PM me with a time to meet, and you've got some ears!
