We are in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Disney May 18-24. Anyone know if this is a good week or a week to avoid. I have spent a lot of time on the boards doing research but haven't specifically checked out this week. Didn't know if it was one of the weeks to avoid at Disney World or not. We have two children ages 3 and 12.

Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated.

I too am planning my family's first trip to Disney. I was told by many people to buy the "the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2005" So far I love this resource!!! And the book says that you will be traveling a a slower time of year. I hope that helps and have a great trip.

Check out the "Theme Parks and Strategies" board. Someone posted today on how an insider said the parks would be as busy as the Fourth of July in the months of April and May this year. However, many "veterans" expressed doubt that the parks would be THAT crowded. They may be more crowded than usual (50th Celebration of DL starts on May 5), but probably not anywhere near Fourth levels. We are going May 21-29, and are expecting some crowds and some waiting, but hopefully, nothing as bad as things would be during the summer months.

We are going to be there May 20 - 26--last time we went during Easter break and I didn't think it was that bad. But I have done some research and intentionally am taking my kids out of school for their last week so that we can be done and on our flight home Thursday before Memorial Day weekend....the books that we have indicate that it is moderate crowd season....and not too hot yet either. It'll be fine!

We will be there for 2 days that week and are expecting moderate crowds. We have travelled during May before and it is much crowder than Dec, Jan, or Sept our preferred times. But it is managable. It will be hot already though!

Last year it was extremely HOT! I'm hoping it will be slightly cooler this May.
