I know this has probably been asked before but what is the weather like in Dec. ?This will be our second trip. We are going from Dec. 23-29. ( the only time we could all get off). I am going with my 2 kids, my mom, dad, sisters, brother and niece. We rented a 5 bedroom house. What should we not miss doing? How should we dress? Everyone was so helpful with our first trip last year and we had a blast. Also we are not telling the kids until the day before we leave. This will be there Christmas present. Any ideas on how to surprise them?

We went last year at Christmas and the weather was absolutely fabulous. The parks only got busy the week of Christmas and NY. Christmas day we went into MK (EMH) and had ,what we wanted to do done before 11am,then we went back to the hotel and was indoors before the bad weather started.

We were there the week before Christmas last year and it was hot. Luckily I had packed pants that had legs that zipped off for the kids, my dh wear jean shorts and short-sleeved shirts all the time. I, unfortunately, packed long sleeved shirts and had to end up going to the outlet stores buying some inexpensive short sleeved shirts. It might have started off in the upper 50'-lower 60's in the morning but by mid-day it was very warm and we even got in the pools.

The best thing to do is keep checking the weather up until the time you go and plan that way, just don't have all of your summer/spring clothes packed up.

Hi I live in Miami and about 5 years ago we went to Disney for the weekend between Christmas and NY's and it was COLD! and I mean freezing red ears and nose cold!! But in Florida every yera is different. Most likely you will experience some colder temps in the morning and evening and really warm summy weather in the afternoon. Pack shorts, tees, long pants and check weather reports once you're there. If you don't want to pack your entire closet.....around that time the weather is really comfortable so long pants and a tee and then a jacket or warm sweater should do the trick.

Be sure to bring hats and gloves. We had temps in the 30's and 40's the December we were there. Be sure to go to the MVMCP it was a blast and my kids still talk about it. I also recommend a sleigh ride at the wilderness lodge. We went for dinner at the whispering canyon and then surprised the kids with the sleigh ride afterwards. It was $35 for a half hour. We sang Christmas carols! Be sure to make your reservation way ahead of time because this has become quite popular. it is a wonderful time of year to visit.
