I have a trip planned to WDW for next month (4/21-4/26) staying at BWV for the first time. My sister was supposed to go with me, but now cannot go.

I've asked some of my friends to take her place, but no one can go.

I'm debating whether I should just cancel the reservation or if I should just take the plunge and go by myself.

I would love to hear from my fellow DIS'ers if any of you have gone by yourself or know of someone who have gone by his or herself.

Any opinions or comments are welcome!!! Thanks in advance.

Do it. Go alone. You will probably end up like many of us on this board and start planning your next solo trip as soon as you come back and wonder why you never did this before. You get to take your time, do what you want, eat where you want and at the time you want. You can act like a kid and nobody will make fun of you. In fact, you will find that you blend right in and nobody will know you are alone expect the jealous people who can't take advantage of the single rider lines or who can't squeeze on to a crowded bus.

Bring along one of the guidebooks or one of the Imagineering series and learn a lot about what is around you. Bring a camera and take hundreds of unrushed pictures. For your meals, just ask a cast member for a seat with a view since you are by yourself and they seem to be pretty good at getting you a great seat.

Do it.

Yes, I have gone solo several times. The last solo trip was at the AKL, standard view, and I got upgraded to a savannah. I went during the Expedition Everest Preview weekend, so I was able to hook up with some DIS friends for dinner at Ohana one night. I had a great time.

My last three trips to WDW have been solo. But I did meet up with some fellow Dis'ers during my trips. Go and enjoy yourself!

I have done WDW the last two times solo when I was there on business. I went to a park each day after sessions and it was just wonderful! It became a guilty pleasure that I could go anywhere I wanted and do anything I wanted!

I think I will have a hard time whenever I go back with someone else. If you are a diehard Disney fan, you really must indulge yourself and go solo sometime. It is a wonderful experience and give you a whole new perspective! :)

I go all the time with my DD4 and altho it is amazing to be with her I would love to have a day or two ALONE.......:rotfl: Do it, relax, u will love it, noone will know u are alone, they will think u are to chicken to ride whatever u arent riding at the moment:lmao: :lmao: GO:3dglasses :yay:

I have every intention of going it alone if my DFi backs out on me! The thought that I'll be able to go where I want, when I want gives me a very guilty feeling of pleasure, considering I'm thinking about leaving him behind!

i went by myself for my 40th birthday (although a very good friend ended up having a visit so we did get together) and i have gone to meetings there and DL many times alone! i like it, although recently i have done ALL my trips alone, so i am starting to get a bit burnt on that.... but IMAGINE! you can go turn around do whatever without consensus its great! everytime i have brought my ipod thinking if i got stuck in a line or something i wold have a distraction, but honestly, there is so much going on that i haven't ever felt weird by myself or anything.

my only downside - i literally go from store to store eating my weight in sugary processed delicious items because there isn't anyone to go "you are eating another cupcake???????" - i eat till i am nearly incapacitated....

so go! enjoy! just bring some alka seltzer!

Go! You won't believe how much fun you will have by yourself! Especially since you will be staying at the BW in the middle of all the action.

Just think, you could walk over to Epcot and sample a dessert from every country represented.

Or you could ride over to MGM and watch some movies at the Sci-Fi while eating lunch...

Hmmmm... I think I might be hungry! :goodvibes

Especially since you're staying at the BW, you'll have the world at your fingertips. I love staying there and being able to pop down to Jellyrolls for the evening and not have to worry about driving home. Or just catching some of the entertainment in the evening. Or going to ESPN to catch a game and grab a bite. Or heading down to the fitness center for a workout. Or hanging at the pool with a good book. Or going to the Boardwalk Bakery for a treat in the morning. Or...

The list is endless - enjoy!!! :upsidedow

Traveling solo is great!

do what you want when you want.

you can actually take a nap - without someone waking you up to go to the parks. - problem is she couldn't really go to the parks for more than a half hour.....

I am generally better off on my own!

LOL!!!!

Definitely go. I did this last year when the friend I was traveling with wound up having to leave before me. I was nervous about it, but I wound up having a ball. It's a lovely indulgence just to go where you want, when you want. Have 4 extra snacks or none at all. Sit and enjoy the flowers. Ride your favorite ride 12 times in a row and go on those rides you don't get to go on because someone else doens't want to.

:)
