My family and I will be going to the Hoop dee doo dinner show for the first time ever. We will be in Animal Kingdom that day and plan on doing the 8:30 dinner. We were also planning on seeing Rivers of Light (it will likely be scheduled around 6:30 that night but we have another opportunity to catch Rivers of Light on our 2nd day at AK so its not a big deal if we have to miss it this day.

So my questions are: What is the easiest and quickest way to get from AK to the dinner show? Will we have enough time to see Rivers of Light? We are staying at Art of Animation. Do they still have buses that take guests back to their resorts after the dinner show? Also, I see that I can use my dining plan credits to pay for it. Are the category 2 seats worth it?

Thanks in advance!

unless Disney changed it you can get Cat 1 seats at 830 and we have done this in past. I would use your second night at AK to see Rivers of Light. not sure you would make it from at 630 show. I would take the bus from AK to Fort Wilderness. when you get to the Fort take first internal bus that comes does not matter which color as all go there. short walk from that bus stop over to Hoop. and no driving will not be of much help as you will still need the internal bus there and back from car parking.in case you think you might want to walk instead of waiting for internal bus it is about a mile walk. there is no car parking at that end of campground. I do not know about buses after show as we stay at the Fort. if by chance you decide to come from Art of Animation go to Magic Kingdom but before you go in gate take the boat to Fort Wilderness but allow an hour at MK in case you just miss the boat. Hoop is a short walk, but from a different direction than bus, from boat dock. hope this helps and enjoy the show

It is very unlikely you would be able to make Hoop Dee Doo at 8:30pm from AK if you stayed for a 6:30pm Rivers of Light show.

If leaving from AoA, take bus to Magic Kingdom then catch the boat from there to Fort Wilderness. The Fort Wilderness boat docks very close to Hoop Dee Doo. This is the most simple way I know to get there from a non-MK resort; but you need to allow about an hour for total transportation time.

After the show, buses take guests back to Magic Kingdom, if the park is still open. If MK is closed, buses might take guests back to resorts; but I'm uncertain about that.

If the 8:30 show is the last show of the evening, you can use 2 table dining credits for Category 1 seating.

I think your timeframe is tight, and you're going to be stressed out trying to make the show after RoL. Is it possible for you to rearrange your schedule at all? I find that doing hoop dee doo for dinner on non-park days is ideal (which assumes you have non-park days in your schedule).

I can see Rivers of Light on another night so im not too worried about it. But I heard ROL is only 15 minutes long so I figured i'd be ok leaving AK around 7 or 7:15. I'll be going from Animal Kingdom straight to Fort Wilderness. Thank you all. I think I will take the bus straight to FW, and then the internal bus.
