Going to swap meet on way to Aulani? Costco location?

We arrive next Monday (ACK! So much to do!), spend 2 nights in Waikiki and then drive on Wednesday to Aulani. I was thinking of going to the swap meet on our way, but I'm wondering now if it is smart/safe to leave all of our luggage in our rental car while at the swap meet?

Also, where is Costco in location? Any easy stop for a few groceries on our way from HNL to Waikiki? We probably won't want to buy all of our groceries for Aulani until we are headed there because we won't have that much frig space, nor a huge cooler.

Thanks!

we always go to the Swap Meet on the way to Aulani, luggage and all. We have never had a problem. Costco is at the exit before Aulani from the H1, again an easy stop. It is probably no more than 10 minutes.

Target is also on your way and is an easy stop. Don't go to the swap meet hungry. Very few kiosks to buy food from. In fact, all we found was a shave ice stand or two and they are really just glorified snow cones, not very shave icy at all. Oh, you can buy fresh fruit at several stands.

IMO, if your rental car has a normal trunk you can keep your luggage in, I wouldn't worry about. If you will have an SUV/van or some time of hatchback vehicle, I'd be a little wary of leaving bags visible in the car.

I believe Costco, Target, Safeway are all in the same vicinity which is the exit just before Aulani, as mentioned. Places around there to grab lunch too, if needed. It will be easy to stop there after the Swap Meet, before Aulani.

Great conversation, we are planning to hit the swap meet on the way to Aulani also. We really enjoyed it last time on the island for buying t-shirts, small wood items, car decals, and fresh fruit! I'm really looking forward to that part.

It will be a minivan stuffed to the brim.

Hmm personally, I'd be wary of leaving a car unattended with personal items visible at any place. But especially in Hawaii, I've heard car break-ins are rampant because of all the tourists. I've not been to the Swap Meet myself but maybe someone can chime in to say whether there is parking with security nearby.

We have always had a mini-van filled to the brim when we stop at the Swap Meet and Pearl Harbor. Never had an issue. Not saying something couldn't happen, but we have not had a problem.

The swap meet doesn't seem to be a big place for car break ins. Yes, they happen here, sadly. But the swap meet isn't known for it. Other place, like the lookout on the Pali, or some beaches, absolutely.
