Going to Sagamore for Memorial Day Weekend - Kids Birthday Ideas?

We are going to Sagamore for a 3-night long weekend using DVC's concierge collection. My DD will be turning 8 while there. Last year, my other DD had 4th birthday acknowledged by Disney while we were there. She got autographs, and balloons delivered to the room. This year, she will be turning 5, and we will be at Disney during that time again.

So I told my older DD that we will be celebrating her birthday at Sagamore for her. I don't mind paying for it. However, when I called the reservation agent, she suggested FLOWERS , for a kid?!!!

I then spoke to their concierge staff and I still did not get a good idea about how to make it special.

We have never been to Lake George area, or Sagamore, of course. We will be spending 2 nights at the new water park hotel "Great Escape Lodge" this upcoming Easter weekend. However, I was told many places might not be opened yet.

Any suggestions from Disers familiar with the area? What are the fun things to do or any fun place for dinners with kids with a birthday celebration?

It is between seasons up there at Easter but Memorial Day should be fine. I have stayed there it is a real class place being on the preferred hotel list. Go back to the Great Escape/Six Flags amusement park (right across the street from the indoor water park) for the Birthday party. Call them. I'm sure they will give you some great ideas. Here's a Link .

We have been to the Sagamore many times. There is a lot to do there but for something special, you might want to head down to Lake George or even Saratoga (the real one).

Thanks for the suggestions. I think the Sagamore stay will give us more time to explore the area. Was just told by the resort that the indoor pool will be closed during our stay, they are renovating it to make the pool much bigger to be ready in June.
