We are going to Orlando in March with our extended family, stayed March 4-19.

A couple people are really big on going to Orlando and to be honest I didn't put much thought into it until now.

We are going with our 3 year old and 9 month old (their ages in March).

If we go to Universal that means we will skip at least one of the Disney parks in its place.

Looking around it appears there are a lot of attractions that our 3 year old wont be able to go on due to height restrictions.

Is this a park you guys would suggest we skip and do when our kids are a bit older?

BOth Universal and IOA are fantastic parks, and there is kid stuff there. But most of the stuff is aimed at kids older than yours, and even some of the tamer things can scare timid little ones..Personally I would look online at what each park has to offer.IMHO I would wait till they are older. We took DD at age 8 and she made the height requirements on alot of things but was too scared to ride some of them. She still had a great time, but like I said she is older.

I took my 3 year old last year and 17 year old, then left my 10 month old with DH. My sister lives in Tampa and had AP's so we joined her there for a day. I would personaly wait until they are older and not waste the extra $$$. Universal has areas for the younger kids but not enough to make it worth it IMHO. They also have a lot more exposed areas while walking to each ride. Yes we had fun just would wait if i had the chance to redo. I would wait until they are older and meet higher height restrictions. Enjoy a day at your resort swimming instead and take them to an extra character meal. I wish I would've had someone to tell me this last year when we went to US.

From what I have seen it seems like it may be a little too advanced for young kids.

She won't be able to do much there and neither will we.

Hmmmmm... decisions, decisions

I think you should wait until they are older so they can enjoy the rides at Universal. While there are things for the little ones, I don't know if it would be worth the money spent.

Also depends on the preferences of the kids. My son was 3 and he loved character meet and greets more than any ride.

He was familiar with a ton of Disney characters at their various parks, but he loved getting to meet Spiderman, Captain America, Wolverine, Scooby Doo, Shrek and Fiona. He also loved Flight of the Hippogriff and the Dr. Seuss trolly car ride, although he's a little bit of a daredevil even at age 3.
