Going to my first Mecha-Con!! Need HELP!!

Ok, so I just found out that Mecha-Con is coming to my hometown and Vic Mignona's gonna be there!!! *fangirl scream* I'm okay...

Anyways, I've never been to an anime convention before, and while I'm not OBSESSED with anime, there are a few I like. Mainly I'd like to get to meet my favorite actors more than anything. And maybe do some cosplay...

But my schedule will probably only allow me to go for one day... So I'd like to know, when is the best time to go to get autographs, photos, and to meet the actors that I'm hoping to meet since that's my main goal? I guess like a meet and greet?

Also, I'd love some advice for an easy cosplay that I could do. I'm about 5' 3', more conservative style (I'm not big on showing alot of skin...), not fat but not thin either, and my favorite animes are Ouran Host Club and Clannad.

Suggestions?

Any experiences you have had would be VERY helpful.
