Going to MVMCP & another park on the same day w/o parkhopper?

I've got my plan set up so that we have one day for each park (no parkhopper), and our "rest" day is going to be the day of MVMCP - going to the park for 4pm for the party (yes, not much of a rest).

Because we'll be buying the 5 days for the price of 4 days tickets anyway, we'll have that extra day in the parks. I figured that if we wanted to use that extra day, it will almost certainly get used for MK, but it got me thinking that we could use it to visit another park.

Does anyone know if on a day we are using MVMCP, that we have to use a park ticket at MK (to arrive before 4pm) or if we could use it at any park?

Do you have 4 day base tickets or 5? You can enter 1 park per day with the base tickets. This has nothing do with your MVMCP ticket which allows you to enter MK at 4pm on party night without using a day of your base tickets. You could certainly use your base tickets to enter a different park and then use your party ticket to enter MK at 4pm. You would use a day of the base ticket to enter the first park and then your party ticket to get into MK at 4.

It's a 5 day base ticket (ut sells a 4 day base with an extra day "free").

Logically, I figured that the two shouldn't impact one another, but I wouldn't put it past Disney to have a rule to prevent it from happening.

You could do what you are proposing but it may not be the best use of that 5th day. You're really cutting into the number of park hours you would get from it. You would have to leave whatever park you are coming from possibly as early as 2pm to get to MK for 4. I'd also recommend getting to MK by 3:30 as the line will already be formed.

Party ticket has nothing to do with your other tickets and where you use them. With your party ticket you may enter the MK at 4 pm, no earlier unless Disney CMs open the party ticket gates a few minutes early. IF you enter the MK prior to 4 it will use up one of your regular ticket days so be sure you are there long enough to make it a value for you ... but as you say the day was free to you.

Yes you can use your regular ticket to go to say Epcot, then go to the MK at 4 pm and enter with only your party ticket.

I didn't think about lines getting into MVMCP, so thank you for that :)

I figured that we would most likely use it to go to MK because we will have visited the other 3 parks by that day. I was thinking though that my teenagers might want to travel on their own back to a previous park (because they are strange and do strange things, which I think is the definition of being a teenager).

I just wanted to make sure that I knew all my options. I was worried that I would suddenly find myself at MVMCP having to pay for parkhopper upgrades because I made an assumption that my base park ticket had nothing to do with my MVMCP ticket.

We plan to do this. We are going to AK early and then probably having a very early dinner at Trail's End before entering MK. We don't expect to be at MK before 6 but that is more than enough time for us.
