Hi-I am new to the boards but find everyone so helpful. We are going to DLP in August before our schools start back in Northern Virginia for a week of FUN! 5 days of DLP (our 1st time) and a few days in Paris. We have done WDW and Disneyland so we feel we can handle our own touring plans for DLP. However, I am curious about excursions from DLP-we want to do Provins and Chateau Vaux le Viconte. Should we book these through the website provided by Disney or should we book these via phone directly with the companies? Should we book everything before we leave or wait until we get there? In August, will we be with locals or tourists like ourselves? Sorry so many questions-I should stop. I am so excited! Our son is autistic-does anyone know if they have fast passes like they do in the States to accomodate him so we do not have have such long waits? We never expect front of the line but a fastpass works great!
Thanks so much for all of your help.

Hello :goodvibes

When you say the website provided by Disney which one are you talking about ?

I know that there are several coach sightseeing companies that run excursions to these places directly from Paris (for example)

These can be reserved in advance as I'd be probablly doing so seeing as you are coming in high tourist season.

Vaux le Vicomte is especially beautiful during the candle lit evenings. I went one year for my birthday and it was wonderful

In Paris you will be amongst mainly tourists as locals leave the city for the summer. Traditionally the month of August was a "dead" month as everybody went at the same time but now people are splitting up more the summer holidays and are going for just 2 weeks at a time.

Hth :)

I was looking at the actual Disneyland Paris website-now that I think about it I do not think there is a link to make reservations. You are right-I will make reservations this week as I will never hear the end of it from my husband if we can't do a few excursions because they are already full. Thank you so much for the links-I know I can book the Buffalo Bill show online but the excursions need to be done on their own websites as far as I can tell.
One more question if I may? Do the cast members all speak English? My high school French is so rusty I will attempt pleasantries but will keep the ordering food and what not to English.
Thanks for all of your help! Merci!

Sorry but I have another question and I don't think I have asked it yet. How does Disneyland Paris handle autism? I am getting a doctor's note to present at Guest Services and am hoping to get a card that can be used as a type of fastpass. We have done this at both WDW in FL and DL in CA and it has been fine. We do not get front of the line but the time saving of the fastpass which works well for us. Has anyone done this? Thank you so much for any information! Looking forward to our first trip in August!

Carrie Cat-thank you so much for those websites-I am leary about booking an all day excursion to Provins with our autistic son. Maybe my DH and DD can go for the day and DS and I will stay at the parks. Provins looks amazing but I might pass. Our son did okay for an all day excursion to Mount St. Michel last summer (10 hours) but it did take its toll.
Thanks again-Elizabeth

You will be able to present your doctors note to City Hall and they will issue you with a disabled pass catering to your needs :) You may be lucky and get a pass to bypass the queues all together or you could get a "fast pass" type pass. Varying degrees have vary passes, but just show your letter and you will be looked after :) :thumbsup2

Goodness you are up early Lisa! (I need to get myself back on EST-we just got back from DL and our Alaska Disney cruise and I can't go to sleep until late) Thanks for the information-it sounds just like here in the states. We never expect front of the line-our son was melting down waiting in line to board the cruise in Vancouver and the CM was so nice and let us jump in line-nice to be taken care of Disney fashion. DS is fine once we get in line-he is verbal and will say "could you move please". UGH!!!! Not good unless the person in front of us laughs and tosses it up to there are waits for every ride at Disney. I will take our GAC from DL and bring the doctor's note from our pediatrician. I am starting to get so excited-it is fun to read the boards and hear of the excitement of others. It is our first time to DLP and we are novices in traveling internationally. I am giving DS a sleeping pill on the way over so we can get to the Hotel Sequioa in a good mood (I hope).
Thanks again-Elizabeth

Hi,
Our DS also has Autism (he's 5) We do get a GAC from City Hall (we show our blue badge as we're from the UK) but you will be fine with details from your paediatrician. I was unaware of any fastpass kind of pass that is issued. When we get a card it enables him and us to stand in the disabled areas for the parades and when you present it at the rides you are usually taken in via the exit, for example at Pirates of the Caribbean, you follow the disabled signs which route you through the exit of the ride and wait there and a CM will load you onto the ride from the exit side, another example is the storybook boat ride, you wait at the disabled gate and you can board straight from there as otherwise you have to go around the steps and over the bridge.

It depends on how the ride loads. I believe some of the rides the CM will tell you to come back at a given time like a fastpass but I've never come across this, so not sure which rides do this.

Also it might help to have a quick look at the "guests with disabilities" pages on the website

Have a great trip

I think Thunder Mountain usually does this - however it may depend on how busy the park is at the time

We have done that a few times-our problem is the wait-our son would rather wait in lines that are moving than stand waiting in the exit line. At WDW and DL, the CM just let you use the fastpass lines-definately cuts down on the wait! Thank you so much for your responses-it sounds like it will be just fine.
Thanks-Elizabeth
