Hi everyone! I am a mom of 2 kids (girl who will b 10 at the time and a son who is 6)and will be taking them to Disney World for the first time the first week of October. I do not know where to begin with planning lol any pointers??

Welcome!!! You could start off with where you are staying, on or off property, them you can decide if you want to make any ADR's. MNSSHP is going on then to you might want to check it out, it's an addition fee but very enjoyable your kids might like dressing up and trick or treating in the MK. But most of all pick your MUST do's and make sure you do them everything else will fall in place. Have Fun!!!!

I feel behind, whats ADR and the MNSSHP? lol thanks for your tips!! Im learning so much about disney I had no idea about all there is to do!

YAY!!! That sounds awesome! Have you settled on a hotel yet? Look at allears.net for photos and reviews etc. to help you choose in case you haven't decided.

If you aren't going to book with Disney, you can get a little bit cheaper tickets from ticketmomma.com

If you have the extra $ to spend, check out touringplans.com for best days to visit certain parks. If you don't have the extra to spend just decide what parks and on which days you think would best suit you.

Once you decide which park you want to go to each day, then look into restaurants. Do you want to eat at quick service restaurants or would you rather spend a little extra and eat at a sit down place? Allears.net is a great place for restaurant menus.

If you need more photos visit ***********.com Have a great trip!!

Hi! First off, Welcome to the DIS! Beware, it is addicting!!!

Do you know where you are going to stay? I think staying on property is best. Disney offers several options for families. Value, moderate, deluxe and deluxe villa resorts. It depends on your budget!
I can recommend resorts for you if you like :goodvibes

ADR- Advanced Dining Reservation. These are a MUST if you intend on table service (sit down) dining.
Have you checked out the restaurants section of this website or the boards? Make a list of restaurants you would like.
Here are some recommendations based on your kids' ages.
1) Chef Mickey's for Breakfast (Disney's Contemporary Resort)
2.) A Princess Meal- Cinderella's Royal Table (Magic Kingdom) or Akershus (Epcot)
3) Ohana for breakfast (Disney's Polynesian Resort) with Lilo and Stitch

Those are just some ideas.

MNSSHP- Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. A MUST-DO!! I am going to do this in September when I visit.
A lot of people recommend not using one of your tickets on this day. Spend the day at your resort, or Downtown Disney and head to the Magic Kingdom around 4 or 5pm for the party. It is an added expense, so to some, it isn't worth using a ticket day.
It is a special party where the Magic Kingdom is closed down and only MNSSHP party goers are allowed in. Your kids can dress up in costumes, and trick or treat around the park. Lots of characters are out and about for greetings. There is a special parade and special fireworks too.

Food and Wine Festival is going on at Epcot as well. Booths from around the world are there with sample food and wine items.

I HIGHLY recommend using a travel agent!! They will help you do everything and answer all of your questions! If you are unsure on who to use, send me a PM and I can give you some options!
Although, I am not a TA, I would like to be. I can help you in anyway I can!
Happy Planning! :goodvibes

thanks so much for the tips! I did some research and youtube videos and I will def be taking my kids to the MNSSHP I think that is perfect for their ages and will make the trip unforgettable!!
