Going to Disney World Tommorrow morning for the first time

Hey all its our 45 day mark until our first trip to Disney World. Also Just a question our trip is payed for and we are going this weekend to purchase our plane tickets. The question is what else are we suppose to get in the mail before we leave? So fare we have our pre tip package which includes the maps of all the parks and a map of our resort.

Lots of pixie dust :wizard:

Free QS meal plan was offered for you dates I believe - if you've already booked your trip you should contact them to make sure they either give you a $4 credit or add it to your existing trip.

My co-worker is booked already with regular dining plan - she called them and Disney gave a them the regular dining plan for the difference in price between the regular and QS dining plans...a considerable $$ for their family of 8.

If you are in the same boat - give them a call !!

I hope the flights are reasonably priced for your dates...we always book airfare first and then our disney stuff

What .... did Free Dining come out? is this a PIN only or a general code ...

Info anyone?

Ted

As far as I know a QS pin was circling, but that's it??

Park maps, really? Last time I booked through Disney directly all I received was my reservation number and a confirmation in the mail. How did you get these?

I just called Disney because I am just inside my 45 day mark and was told that this is a PIN code only. She wasn't nice at all, telling me she wished that people would get their facts straight before publicly announcing them.

Geesh to her - I just asked a question.

wow, that CSR wasn't very magical, was she?!

I got the PIN code too, but it's for quick service dining only and it's good for dates up until July 3! Wish we were going, but it probably won't happen this year :( boo hoo

The PIN can be upgraded to regular or deluxe dining.

However, in my case the current room offer worked out to be a FAR better deal anyhow.

We booked through Fairytale Dreams & Destinations for our trip to Disney in January 2009. The amazingly awesome staff there sent us a great packages that included maps for each park, dining plan info, packing lists, etc. just a few days after our booking was complete. Just another one of the little perks you receive from FD&D and all for the same price if you book direct.

Scotty, have a wonderful trip!!! You've got some great dining choices there. We did many on our Disney vacation......the character meals are a BLAST!

Great selection of restaurants Scott! We loved Teppan Edo last summer - it truly was a highlight of the trip.

Since this is your first trip, just remember to take things at your own pace. It looks like you've thought out the parks you want to visit, and then decided to eat nearby. Very wise.

We had friends who travelled and found the pace of everything overwhelming. We find it the opposite, but I think that's because we get up early, know what we want to do, and then are brave enough to disengage for awhile and enjoy some of the other delights that are on property. Let the kids play in the pool, while you and your sister sit on the sidelines enjoying an adult beverage!

Have a great trip.

Hello everyone 36 more days until our trip to Disney World. I still can't believe that i am going to Disney World finally, I still think that i am dreaming i don't think that i will be real until i am finally ether in the air or once we get to our Resort.
But as for airplanes we are flying with Sunwing on the 17th of April our flight leaves at 6:30 in the morning (I think i am repeating my self on this one). Know my question is since i have never been on an airplane before what should i expect, and how should i prepare myself for my first airplane ride.

We flew Sunwing Dec/08 from Toronto. We cleared customes in Orlando - not fun. They treat you like you are embarking an airplane - no water bottles, remove shoes, and you need to claim your bags.

I flew to Orlando w/ Sunwing in December 2009. I loved Sunwing! On that flight you'll get breakfast, a movie, hot towels and chocolates. :) I seem to remember clearing customs in Toronto and then again in Orlando (I might be wrong about the Toronto part, it was so early in the morning!). Don't worry though, that early in the morning in Orlando there won't be a line-up and you'll be in and out really quick and on your way to the DME. You'll be checking your luggage in Toronto and won't see them again you're at your resort. You won't have to claim them at the Orlando airport!

Hello Everyone just letting you all know that i am finally going to Disney World Tomorrow morning my sister and her kids and i have to be at Toronto Pearson for 3:30 am for our 6:30 am flight with sunwing. I will post a Trip report when we get back on the 24th to let you all know about our first experiences at the world with Lots or pics....

See you soon
