I almost can't believe it myself, but I'm seriously considering joining Curves when we visit tonight. I'm not a big one on exercise, but I know I have to do it, and all the ladies here who go seem to love it so much .... So we'll see how it goes on the tour tonight! ;)

I joined Curves almost a month ago. When I joined, I was not expecting miracles -- my only 2 goals were to get there a minimum of 3 times a week, and to feel better (not only physically, but also about myself). I have managed to accomplish both of these in the last month. Now that I am into the routine a bit more, I want to work harder in the next month so that I will maybe see a definite difference. I'm not going to my measure day on Saturday with any huge expectations -- just a feeling of accomplishment. The ladies who go there are so great, and I don't feel self-conscious at all. We're all just having a great time. And that half hour really does go by pretty quick. I don't even dread the squat machine anymore :D

I did find my first visit to be quite a sales-pitch (it was a brand new location). And to be honest, if my sister hadn't joined a different one the week before and hadn't given me her good reports, I would have left there that night and never gone back. But I ignored the sales-pressures, got a trial week, and joined 6 days later.

Hi maryliz. It's great to see you here on WISH. Are you going to be joining our support group? We could use your great example as motivation. What do you think? It's really fun here.

Amy, I am just so proud of you for doing this. I know you hate to exercise so this is a huge step forward for you. Let us know what you decide to do.

Hi nativetxn. Does your support group tell me how NOT to eat 2 slices of bread at 10 o'clock at night just because I feel like eating something??? (LOL)

Hi Mary Liz!
Welcome to the gang of losers!! I hope you'll stop by and visit us often. Enjoy curves tonite -- and tell us all about it in the morning.

The closest one to me is about 10 miles away. I wish they'd have one closer --- it sounds like something I would enjoy.
:D

Hi DiznEeyore,

You will love Curves. I am not one for excercising but when I joined Curves I was surprised how much I have enjoyed going. It 30 minutes of your day, which I think is pretty good especially for people who do not have a lot of time in the day. I was very fortunate that I did not have a sales pitch. I just signed the papers and started the routine.

Hi MaryLiz,

Welcome to the "losers" board. Now you have to try to stay away from the bread at night. That is not healty to be eating late at night and especially bread. Why not try to change your routine at night alittle so you don't get yourself tempted.

Good luck to both of you at Curves.

Maryliz -- I have to agree with everyone else. If you HAVE to eat something at 10 p.m., bread is probably not the best thing to have. ;)

I don't know if you're following a specific diet plan or not. If you're doing WW, you could try a few veggies to munch on if you have to have SOMETHING! If you're doing Atkins, maybe some cheese or something similar to "get the edge" off.

Drinking a glass of water also will sometimes help with those cravings. Gets the (imagined) taste out of your mouth and fills up the tummy. (The only problem with drinking water at 10 p.m. is the trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night!)

Nice to have you join us, BTW!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words of encouragement. It's now 10PM and I think I'll have ... a glass of water ! I can drink an entire pot of tea at this time of night, still fall asleep quite nicely, and no trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night (wow ... I just found a talent ... and I thought I had none LOL).

I think I need to stop reading the refillable mug/pool hopping debates on the resort board and visit HERE more often!

Here's hoping to getting my 5 pound ribbon soon!

I think you should visit WISH more often, too. Sorry that I missed your plea for help last night. Our wonderful and caring support group came through for you though. See why I love it here on WISH so much?

I'm proud of you for not eating that bread, last night. You didn't eat it afterall did you?
