Hello all

I was thinking about going to Celebration on our next trip. I wanted to see if anyone has ever done this. How far is it from SSR & is it worth it? Any info would be great. Thanks

I don't know how far away it is but it's just like another subdivision. I didn't notice anything particularly special about it. I would NOT make a special trip to see it. We have a DF that works at the hospital there and we had to pick her up from work, that's why we've been there.

While it's a cute little town it really isn't anything amazing. IMO it's really not worth going out of your way for. We visited a couple times when Disney still owned the town. We had a nice lunch in the downtown restaurant and walked around a bit but we've never gone back.

... maybe on your way to the airport or something. It's maybe 15 minutes from SSR.

We were there some years back, when it was brand new, and the design, cleanliness and overall concept were all breathtaking -- and a little creepy. :scared1: It's just a tad TOO perfect. (Or it was...dunno if it's changed since Disney sold it.) But it makes for an interesting glimpse at urban planning, and one community's effort to create something from scratch.

well, the purple van lives in Celebration and I do too, along with my wife and four daughters. It really is a pretty town but it really isn't anything worth missing a day in the parks for. It's just a small town. If it's around Christmas or Halloween, it's worth it to see the decorations and the 4th of July fireworks are better than in the parks (just my opinion). If you want a break from the parks, Celebration is nice but there's also Winter Park, Leu Gardens and Bok Tower that would be on my list of suggestions.
