We are going to book a 7 day Land and Sea for March 6, 2005 and would like to know a couple of things from you veterans. The 4 day land and 3 day sea was wondering if anybody has added on a day at disney and how that affacted the unlimited passes, or is it better to price wise to book the 3 day land and 4 sea and add on 2 days at disney? We are going with alot of family 15 plus and most have never been so we need a few extra days in Disney.

Also are the unlimited passes like hopper passes or do they go by how many days your at DW?

We also have old hopper passes that we think have a few days left (brain died, can't remember) I tried calling to see if I could find out but they said I had to be there to find out. (Really big help when your trying to plain a trip-NOT) So I'm hopeing I can just add them on at the resort.

I've been looking at reservations DisneyCruise.com and when you go through with putting in all your info and they tell you what resort you can pick they don't list the ones they have when checking just prices. my daughter wants to stay at Aminal Kingdom but its not there as a pick, could this mean that there booked up there rooms they use for the cruise? Or should we be thinking about booking the trip some other way?

Sorry about being so long, Thanks to everybody for posting to my thread and for all the great info on this board--We are going to be well informed First timers- thats for sure.

Thanks so much Kelly :wave2: :wizard:

Hi, I'll try to help.

Not all hotels are available for the land/sea. It also depends upon which cat. you are choosing. We did a cat. 11 and stayed at POR. We also had our choice of the Carb. Resort (I think that is the name). Animal Kingdom if offered would be on one of the highest cat. Yes, they could also be sold out. I think they only reserve a certain number for the cruisers.

I believe the hopper passes are good for your time of stay. From your first day to the day you go to port. You can go to the AK for a character breakfast (price for the bk is not included).

Now if you book the vacation separately, remember that the DCL buses do not pick up at all the resorts, such as the value resorts.

Have fun! Lorie

:sunny: The passes you get with the package are good from the time you get there till midnight of the day you leave. AKL lodge is available but you have to be in a Cat. 7 or below for it to come up as a choice. I am sure if you are in a Cat. 8 or above you could DCL and see if you could say for an extra cost, but then it may be cheaper to stay in 7 or below. Hope this helps with some of your questions. Enjoy your trip.:boat:

Many past land/sea cruisers recommend booking the 2 parts separately. The park hoppers that come with the package are good on the day you arrive, and also the day you leave. Depending on what time you arrive, you may not be able to go to the parks, and on the day to go to the ship - you may want to get there earlier in the day to - which means you've paid for the use of a park hopper that you are not using.

Also, when booking separately, you have the opportunity to choose the accomodations you want for each part of the trip. When we recently did our Sea/Land, we had to book them separately, because we did the Sea first. We were able to get a great deal at the Swan, however, we only booked a category 10 cabin, which for us was great.

Yes, it is a little more work to book your on your own, instead of the Land/Sea package, well worth it in my opinion.

If you stay at a resort without the Disney transportation to the port, you can have a limo company (like FL Tours) come and take you. If you use them for round trip transportation, they will also do a grocery stop.

We booked a 4dayland/3day sea back in Jan. and booked a catagory 5 on the ship. We really wanted to stay at the polynesian which was an available offering, but since we booked so late that choice was already gone.We are staying at the beach club. AKL lodge was a choice as swan/dolphin at the time of our booking. I called back a few days later to try and change from BC TO AKL, but that too was now gone. I guess this is a sitution of booking early to have as many options avail as poss.

Yes As far as the transportation goes Disney will charge u $65.00
per person u really should look into a couple of 8 passenger vans from a Towncar service Will save u a bundle of Money...

Also the passes u can get them at the desk of the resort .. when u purchase at the resort u can drop the last day wich u will not use since u r going on the ship..... Will save u a bundle.....

I would Book Seperately

Airlines book your own Air u will do much better ....

another option Is to look into Renting points From a Dvc member and Stay at one of the Disney vacation club Resorts ... Boardwalk Beach club, old key west they r condos they have studio that will sleep 5 and other options ....

check out the dvc rent / trade board on this web site ...

My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for late August 2004. Through our travel agent, we booked a 4-day cruise, then a 6-night stay at the Boardwalk Inn. We looked into a land/sea deal, but it just wasn't going to be long enough.

If you want to spend an xtra day or two at the parks, then book it separately. In my opinion, it is well worth the effort.

The passes included are the Ultimate Park Hoppers, which include all the water parks, Disney Quest, etc. It is great if you think you will use them, but going in March, with family that haven't been to WDW recently--my bet is that you will spend more time in the parks, so that a park hopper plus (which unused days never expire) and booking on your own will probably be cheaper. Sound likes a really fun trip!!
