Going through the Grand Californian to Disneyland Hotel from DCA

Ok I kinda want to look Cool in front of the kids (and Bride) so I need to ask...

We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel and on the day we open up DCA we do intend a mid day siesta.

Because we would like to see the Grand Californian and all, I want to exit DCA via the "secret" passage. Go through the Grand Californian.. Exit into the downtown Disney and walk to the Disneyland Hotel..

It is my understanding that one can not do this until after 11:00 am..

Is my plan OK or is there something I do not see????

By the way were is the secret passageway from DCA to the Grand Californian??? ha ha should have asked that first..

The entrance to GCH from DCA is right across from Grizzly Rapids. They won't ask to see anything nine times out of ten because the hotel and its restaurants are open to the public. From there you can follow the corridor to the lobby and check it out. It's gorgeous! On the way you can peek at the pool. After checking things out follow the signs back to Downtown Disney where you can then make your way to DLH. It lets you out right at Anna & Elsa's Boutique.

You can leave DCA near the Grizzly River Rapids ride, enter the GCH and exit onto DTD and get to DH like this :

Or you can enter the GCH and leave this way, cross the street heading to Paradise Pier Hotel and walk thru the parking area

There are no restrictions to exiting DCA thru the GCH turnstile. Entrance into DCA from the GCH turnstile is restricted (until after mid morning) to Resort Hotel Guests from either of the 3 Hotels ( so there are no use restrictions for you ) . You can enter this way for Extra Magic Hour because you are staying at the DH. You need to show a room key for all members of your party to get thru until after mid morning.After mid morning they stop asking people to show room keys and anyone may enter. Beware,though , that the line for EMH at this turnstiles really backs up since there are only 2. It maybe quicker to use the DCA maingate to get in during EMH.
