Going Solo May 2015

I decided to a solo Disney World vacation next May for 12 days!!! So excited!! I think it will be very peaceful and relaxing. I like everything to go on schedule and it's hard when you have people there. My friend goes, "You are going alone!!!" and I said "What? Well, you guys sleep in until noon and I am at the park by myself all the morning... what is the difference?"

I have tons of great new, things planned... I want to do Cirque at Downtown Disney, Hoop De Doo, the Luau, the Tommorowland Terrace Dessert Party, the Illumination Dessert Party, Keys to the Kingdom Tour, Wild Africa Trek and Jiko Wine Tasting. I am hoping that my vacation falls during another 24 hour Magic Kingdom party!

What has been everyone's experience going solo to Hoop De Doo, Luau, and Jiko Wine Tasting...oh and Grand Floridan Tea and Cali Grill ? Will it be awkward?

I also have a lot of buffet meals planned, which seems better for me. I am nervous about the family-style meals at Ohana and Garden Grill, but I want to try those places and I guess I'll try to eat what I can

In all my solo trips, the only one you mentioned that I've been to solo is the Cali Grill. I asked for and received a window seat (I said I wanted something to look at during dinner since I had no one to talk with). My server was super, checking up on me frequently and sometimes stopping for a minute. That's been my experience at WDW, that sometimes servers give a solo that little "extra" attention because they seem to worry that you'll be bored and unhappy by yourself.

I'm going solo in May, too! I'm one day shorter than you though. I'm going to some of the same places (Grand Floridian tea, Hoop De Doo, Luau, the Tommorowland Terrace Dessert Party, and Keys to the Kingdom Tour), but I'm not too worried. I've dined alone before, and it always is mildly awkward but I usually bring a small journal to write in. People tend to think I'm a writer or a food critic for some reason, but it does the job to make me feel less awkward. In regards to the dinners with shows, I think people are so distracted by the show (perhaps you included) that awkwardness won't be an issue.
