Going solo...any suggestions?

Do it! Have fun! I'm assuming you've been to WDW before. I'm going on my 4th solo trip in about a month, and I can't wait. Solo at WDW can be an amazing time, depending on how well you do things "with yourself", as opposed to "by yourself". Having the freedom to do what you want, when you want is the best part of going solo.

I'm happy to share my solo WDW experiences if you're interested, as will many others on these boards.

I totally agree. I went solo for 14 days and I had an amazing time. On some days I met some people I knew from the internet and on the other days I went alone to the parks. It was great sitting on the bench on Tom Sawyer Island for almost one hour and watching Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

I will go solo in february again but I also hope to finde some people to visit the parks together on some days.

I also would love to hear from your experiences Fantaluminishes.

My solo trip last summer was the best one yet. I did the Premium Plan for 7 nights/8days. It was a blast. I took 5 tours, and ate at most of the best restaurants. The only problem was I missed the water parks and spent more time in restuarants than I normally would. My last full day was the most relaxing. I rode a jet ski and parasailed before going to Epcot until midnight.

This year I'm going to go at a much slower pace and really take time to enjoy everything. I'll be at 3 resorts over 11 nights (3POR, 3AKL, 5WL). I'm not going to do rope drop AND late nights everyday. I'm going to enjoy the resorts and the rest of the magic.

BTW. I like your avatar, Epcotmaniac!

Thanks for sharing!! I haven't decided when I'm going or where I'll be staying but I'm excited for it.

I'm planning on going to WDW solo. Anyone ever done it? Any tips?

I love going to WDW with friends but I've been a few times by myself and have had soooo much fun too! Deciding where you wanna go and eat and what to do and when with no planning is great! Not to mention riding single rider lines is the way to go! I've met so many interesting people just chatting in line or other places being there solo! :)

Like Bri, I like going with friends, but most of my trips are solo. It is nice to be able to have the liberty to do what you want at your leisure. You don't get eye rolls if you want a second Dole Whip or Mickey Bar in 30 minutes. Or have someone complaining that you just want to sit on a bench and people watch. Or have others put out that you want to wait 45 minutes to meet Tinkerbell and her fairy friend.

And the single rider line is awesome!

My trips are ALWAYS solo! I usually have tons of fun...unless I am sick, like I was the last time. I say enjoy your time and do whatever it is you want...it's your vacation.

The only thing that sucks about going solo is that I never seem to be able to eat a whole adult meal. :rotfl2:

I love going solo! I'll be solo again in August for about a week. I love the freedom of going where I want, when I want ,for as long as I want. I tend to go non stop, only stopping to eat. Sometimes I wish I had someone to share the experience with but over all I always have a magical time.

I'm about to make my first solo trip myself. I've had solo days before, but I'll be there for 3.5 days on my own over Labor Day weekend. Looking forward to it, actually! I'm using it as an excuse to see attractions and things we often skip - and to spend some serious time at the Swan's pool! :thumbsup2

I'm thinking the whole "enjoy the freedom" and "go with the flow" approach is the right way to do it.

I always go to WDW all by myself. I love the freedom of doing whatever I want and whenever I want. I go to a park in the morning and then go back to the hotel for some nap in the afternoon and then back to the park in the evening. I usually organize the parks by the extra magic hour. It never hurts to have one or two extra hours to enjoy. I went with family members one time, and we mostly ride the kiddie rides. I am a huge adrenaline junkie. On most rides, I usually take advantage of the single rider line because it usually has less waiting time compare to regular line. I have stayed in various Disney properties before, but Animal Kingdom Lodge (love the savannah view), Port Orleans (love the Jambalaya) and Saratoga Springs (love the fast internet connection) are on the top of my lists. Port Orleans is more affordable than the other two properties.

I love solo trips! I went on one full solo trip and then did a few days by myself after my mom left on my last trip. My TRs are in my signature.

I'd suggest doing a lot of things you wouldn't usually do. I even rode the teacups by myself! It's fun to just have time to watch people, and I never noticed a problem with getting a seat to eat - it's easy to fit one person in!

Also, always be listening for the shout of CMs looking for "one rider"! It happened to me over and over; they needed one rider to fill out the vehicle and I was happy to oblige! You can also happily use the single rider lines too.
