My hubby and I are going for our 5 year anniversary trip from May15th-18th im so excited! We went last year with my 3 year old and a few other adults and had so much fun we decided why not do it again for our anniversary but just us!? I was just wondering if anyone could offer any tips on things for adults to do or places to go we would like to do a nice dinner for our anniversary night on the 17th once i choose i place do i need to call and make reservations? if so how early? we will be staying at paradise peir and will get to cali around 9am so what should we do that first day? any suggestions?! thanks guys!!

Nice dinner, Blue Bayou, Yamabouki (japanese), Napa Rose, Hooke's Point. Those are ones I've heard of but the only one I've eaten at is Blue Bayou. We love it that but it is quite $$, worth an anniversary dinner though. Have a GREAT trip!!

I would suggest Vineyard Room or Napa Rose for a nice anniversary.

Get your anniversary buttons at City Hall or Guest Services. They are cute. Maybe have fun with the bride and groom ears.

If you like music you can also look into concerts at the House of Blues.

Reservations I believe are taken 30 or 60 days out, I would look at the menus online see which place best suits you make reservations.

DTD's Jazz Kitchen on the balcony overlooking everything!!
DH and and I did it on our last trip. It was so fun and nice! The food was yummy too!

My husband and I went for my birthday in Sept. just the 2 of us. We ate at Blue Bayou and asked for a waterside view. It was soooo fun! :thumbsup2 We also rode all the rides we wanted and hardly waited in line at all.

One of my favorite things was that we could go into all the little shops and look at all the cool things. I loved not having to worry about a stroller or a 3 year old touching things!! I haven't been in the shops in a long time so that was really fun.

The one thing we didn't do (wish we had) was go see Wicked. It was playing in the area at the time. We went to Magic Mountain instead - it was very disappointing.

Soooo, do what you love, with the one you love. Sleep in, stroll around, shop, eat, all without worrying about if your kids are hungry, cranky or tired!! :rolleyes1

What is the wizard your talking about brady's mom? thanks for the advice guys so do i need to call in advance to make reservations?

Definitely call in advance for reservations. Especially for your anniversary. And tell them you are celebrating. I don't know if that will do any good - but it never hurts. And if you are wearing your anniversary buttons, that can help too.

You can call vacation planning and have a basket of fresh fruit, cheeses, crackers, and wine sent to your room so it's there when you and DH arrive. My DH and I are going down end of Aug. I plan on doing this for us (the wine is for him as I don't care for wine).
